Review of Flash Game: Wonderputt

Most miniature golf players are submitted to the elements of the great outdoors, such as heat, wind, rain, cold and insects. For those who are not a fan of nature, this flash game has found a way to overcome these unpleasant conditions while giving each player an optimal golfing experience. Enjoy this not so simple game of miniature golf, without ever leaving the computer. Putt through the snow, hills, lakes, submarines, and much more. Just don't let the ball sink into the water or fall off the edge or a turn will be wasted and points will be lost.

The rules of the game are that of basic miniature golf. The controls are simple. Just move the mouse closer or farther away from the ball and then click. The ball will go the direction that the arrow is pointing. The courses are not as simple as the controls. The different courses are definitely the best part of the game. Not only is there a wide variety of different courses, but the player is able to watch the ball travel from one course to another and watch the upcoming course be built. Cows, space ships, and submarine disassembly are part of the building process. The animation and courses are fun. They create a very out of this world feel, which adds excitement to the game as well as providing a break in between holes for the user to rest a little. The game gets progressively harder. In the beginning, the player can rely on luck. In the later courses, it is almost pure strategy and skill. Points are something to consider while building a strategy. The more hits it takes you to putt the ball the lower your score.

One negative thing about the game is how long it takes the ball to settle after it is hit. On some courses it is realistic and doesn't roll around too long. On other courses, where almost no part of the green is even, the ball rolls back and forth across the grass for what seems like forever. This forces the player to wait a long time between hits which ends up feeling very frustrating. The music matches the sense of wonder that the courses create, but it starts feeling very monotonous after a while.

Hints and Tips:

The key to getting a hole in one is power and angle. The sooner these two things are mastered, the higher your overall score will be.

Remember that the least amount of putts equals the highest score.

Review of Flash Game: Steamlands

So what can one do with a steam tank, lego like blocks, guns, and cannons in a war wrecked Europe? Build steam tanks and fight pirates of course. Become a mercenary tank commander and defend villages, the royal family, and scavenge for parts for your steam tank in the New Britannia.

One of the nice things about the game is that the tank is completely customizable. You can arrange your blocks around the steam room however you wish. The blocks come in different sizes and are made of different materials. The blocks should be strategically arranged to protect the driver, cargo, and passengers. The blocks can even be rearranged mid battle with little difficulty. This comes in handy when you fail to miss a weak spot. In addition, a big part of the game is placing the guns and cannons on the steam tank. Some of them need steam power to work; so there are limitations on where they can be placed. Some types of guns are also more effective if placed in specific locations and not randomly scattered around. Guns and blocks can be picked up as the tank goes through the level. Some are just lying around, while others fall from destroyed enemy tanks. There are also opportunities to repair the tank between battles. If you get stuck on a particular level, the game allows you to skip it and go back to it later.

There are a few downsides to the game. One of them is the controls. The game does a good job describing the controls and giving the player hints. Moving the tank forward and reversing isn't so bad once you get the hang of it. The tricky part is firing the guns. The controls are less than desirable and it is difficult to get all the guns to fire in unison. Also, while the guns are firing, the driver cannot fix the tank or throw coal.

Hints and Tips:

Rearrange the steam tank. If you notice a weak spot, add a few more blocks. Make sure the guns are placed where they can effectively damage the enemy tank.

Talk to the shop keeper. Some of the things he/she tells you is worthless town gossip, but some of it helps you to beat the upcoming level. It is definitely worth the money.

Look for the enemy's weak spots and then rearrange your guns to hit these spots if necessary. Taking out the enemies' guns first can be useful strategy.

The Most Addictive Flash (iPhone) Game of the Year - Totomi

This week there was a new free-to-play flash game released by Rovio Mobile called Totomi. Totomi is available freely online and will be available for purchase as an iPhone game in the coming weeks. Totomi could be the most addictive flash game ever! Totomi's graphics are of excellent quality and the upcoming Totomi iPhone game will offer even more! The basic idea of the game is to build as many totems as high as possible and as fast as possible. To build totems in Totomi you must pile animals from assembly lines into three game slots and the object is to get as many points as possible before time runs out by building these totems. To grow the Totomi totems you must match animals together and the higher totems you build the more time you will be given. Totomi's totem building system is based on the animals' relationships to each other and to different kinds of plants- e.g.: If the animals mate, if they're friendly or whether one animal eats the other animal. The game is totally violence free and suitable for all ages.

An example of how to build totems is if you place a zebra on top of another zebra in one of the slots this means there has been breeding, which allows your "totomi" to grow. Another way to make your totem grow is through eating. An example of this is if the assembly line gives you a leaf you can feed the leaf to all plant eating animals like zebras, mice, beavers, elephants, foxes, hippos and bears and, once consumed, your "totomi" grows. Also in the game beavers can eat wood and fish. Birds can eat mice and fish. Lions can eat birds, mice, zebras and beavers. Foxes can eat mice, birds and beavers. Cats eat birds, fish and mice. Bears eat fish; crocodiles eat fish, birds, zebras, lions, cats, foxes and beavers.

Totems in Totomi are also built by making friend totems. These totems consist of animals that get along in the wild. For example birds, zebras, elephants and hippos can all be together in a friendly Totomi totem.

If you have a large animal (elephant, hippo or bear) that doesn't fit into any of your totems being built it will cause the animals in the totems to get angry or scarred and when the larger animal is dropped the animals below it in the totem get scared and get pushed away.

If your time is running out you can cash in your Totomi totem by placing a non-matching animal on top of the totem you have built, for example by placing a bird on top of a totem made up of zebras.

Totomi is one of the most addictive flash games I've ever played. It may be hard to understand the first time you play, but if you play it twice you're hooked as you figure out the relationships between all the animals. Totomi is a game, which can be played by anyone of any age: I know a nine year old and a fifty year old who both play it and who absolutely love it!

If you're interested in playing Totomi visit totomi.com and help to make this the most popular flash game on the net, and if you love it the iPhone game will blow your socks off with enhanced graphic, a story mode and plenty more about the world of Totomi.

Free Flash Games - An Upcoming Craze Among Youngsters

Outdoor or indoor playing has always been the best recreation for kids as well as adults. It refreshes the mind after a stressful and hectic day. However, it is also true that with the increase in working hours and the hectic work culture, people hardly have time or stamina for outdoor sports. Unlike Carrom, Chess, Poker etc, both youngsters and adults are shifting towards video games. Among these, the most commonly preferred one is the Free Flash Games, which has undoubtedly become the latest craze, especially among kids.

The biggest advantage about this is you can log into any online gaming website and start playing games absolutely 'free of cost'. However, various ways to play free online games have come up with the consistent increase in demand. The most recently launched is the Bingo which is a fantastic game in itself. If someone is a regular bingo player and finds out new ways to win it, then he or she gets a new gaming opportunity which is called Bingo Luau. With this you get various exiting ways to play additional bingo. You get chatting facilities and can also create free accounts to connect with other players of your community. Every free Flash Game can be played either as a guest or by free signing in.

All free online games are extensively classified into different categories. It has kids section, action, card, race etc. This leaves a wide array of choice for players. All they need to do is click and log in to their respective accounts in a gaming site. Gamig websites have huge choices for players that keeps players glued to the computer for hours. Some of the famous shockwave games are Blocky, Jumble word, Domino party and many more. This portal also provides opportunity to shockwave members to have multi-player experience, writing reviews and posting high scores. This makes it much more interesting and competitive.

The multi-player option is used in almost all free Flash Games as it gives the opportunity for communicative activities, exposes the players to a entire community of players and intensifies the experience. Apart from this, there are also various games that can be easily mailed to others and can be played anytime. The next most famous web playing that has taken the world by storm is the SUDOKU, which can be played directly from the website or a blog. The player just needs to copy a link and then easily access the game.

Loaded Metal - Flash Game Walkthrough

General

Loaded Metal is a fast paced defensive shooter styled game where you are in control of high tech military vehicle. You may have difficulty controlling the car if you are new to flash games as vehicle control in games is much more difficult then character control. The story of this game is that the military was aware of an upcoming attack on our country, so you and some of your best men were sent off to stop the attack, but it failed. You were able to escape to base, where you must upgrade your vehicle with weapons in order to stop the enemy assault. In order to win you must be able to hold off the enemy for 20 days without dying. The controls are as followed: Arrows keys to move, or WASD keys. Space or click to shoot.

Upgrades!

Of course the upgrades! The coolest part of any game, and this one isn't short of a few awesome upgrades. There are 13 upgrades in total. Some are one time buys and others can be upgraded multiple times. Here is a complete list of upgrades:

Durable Bumper: Costs 100, isn't upgradable.
Chrome Bumper: Costs 200, isn't upgradable.
**Spiked Bumper: Costs 350, isn't upgradable.
Turn Radius: Costs 75, is upgradable.
Rocket Boost: Costs 250, isn't upgradable.
**Turret: Costs 125, is upgradable.
**Mines: Costs 200, is upgradable.
**Armor Plating: Costs 125, is upgradable.
Health: Costs 75, isn't upgradable, but can be bought many times
**Gun Man: Costs 150, is upgradable.
**Power Core: Costs 250, isn't upgradable.
Gold Bullet: Costs 175, isn't upgradable.
**Split Shot: Costs 200, isn't upgradable.

The ones that I put the ** next to are the upgrades I feel that are most important. The spiked bumper is good for killing all foot soldiers with one hit, and for inflicting good damage on vehicles when they hit you. The gunman and the turret are essential to destroying vehicles so you don't have to rely on just ramming them because you take damage that way. Mines are efficient tank and car killers, so you need some of those. The power core makes your bullets ALOT stronger, so invest some money in that. Split shot is great also, if you can get all 3 bullets to hit one enemy then you are inflicting massive damage, and it's good crowd control in case you have a bunch of enemies in front of you, then you can damage them all. Armor plating helps you not to die as quick, but mainly it makes you look awesome, so upgrade that. The rest are important too, I just found the ones I liked best and put the ** next to them. You may want rocket boost so you can go a lot faster and cause extra ramming damage, or have a better turn radius so you can be more efficient when turning around and shooting those pesky enemy jeeps.

Strategies/Game Help

If you look in the upgrades section I talked a good bit about using the upgrades, so that can be considered part of the strategies section. But here is my quick guide for the full game. The game starts off slow with few enemies, so I recommend buying the gun man and upgrade some of it's damage, then just ride around the game field and pick off enemies as they show up. Begin investing in a turret, some kind of better bumper, and split shot by the time enemy jeeps begin to show up, ramming them just isn't as effective. You should buy some mines so it's easier to kill the jeeps, the mines take away a good portion of their health so they can be destroyed much quicker. If you get low on health of course buy some health but make sure to buy some armor plating too so it's harder to die. At this point you should be doing okay, the combination of your gun man, your turret, and mines should be destroying the enemy jeeps decently. Once the tanks start to show up you will be in trouble though. MAKE SURE NOT TO GET STUCK UNDER THE TANK OR IT WILL RUN YOU OVER AND KILL YOU. Get a power core so you can waste away those beastly tanks. Just make sure to keep upgrading your weapons and don't die of course and you should be able to win. Good Luck and remember this is just my opinion on how to win, there are many other methods and upgrade combinations. Play around in the free play mode to see what upgrades suit you best.

How To Find The Best Strategy Flash Games

While there are tons of games out there that are graphically rich and meant to take advantage of your computers hardware to render realistic characters, environment and special effects, not a lot of us have the money to spend on gaming rigs to even be able to play these games. Fortunately though, there are also games that have been developed that you can play within your browser, making use of flash which doesn't need quite as much video processing power for you to play. Strategy flash games are one of the most popular genres today, requiring strategy and critical thinking similar to playing a game chess. A popular variation are tower defense flash games which is similar to chess in that you defend against attack, as well as launching attacks of your own. Strategy flash games generally require just a keyboard and mouse to interact with the game and can be played straight from the browser. There is no need to install them once it has been fully loaded.

Strategy flash games provide endless opportunities for fun and challenge for hours at a time. One can typically go online and look for websites that feature flash games. They are typically segregated into different genres and sub-genres. These can include puzzle, shooting, arcade, strategy, RPG (role playing game), Sports and action genres. Some sites can feature hundreds or even thousands of games, and one can probably find them on several different sites. Some websites sometimes pay for exclusivity or at least semi-exclusivity, so you may find the same version of a particular game across several sites, but only one site would probably give you access to special bonuses and levels. Some sites will often encourage you to play particular titles across different genres, sometimes offering in-game rewards and boosts that you can use to your advantage while playing tower defense flash games. Playing on a site focused on flash games also allows you the opportunity of reading through the forums where you can learn and exchange ideas and strategies. It also allows you to meet players with similar interests not necessarily limited to gaming.

Another great place to find strategy flash games are at the sites of the designers themselves. Designers often make more than one game and use their site as a portal for players to experience playing the games directly from them. Many of these developers can be accessed and found on online gaming distribution website such as Mochimedia and Kongregate. These websites allow website developers and gamers to sample and even download these online games, usually in a 'SWF' file format. If you have enjoyed a particular game, you can try out many other games that the developers have made with the likelihood of being able to experience the same level of polish across all their titles. In addition to playing strategy flash games and various other genres, you can also provide feedback that can actually influence upcoming titles or even future versions of the same game. Normally, you will be able to rate or comment on a game that you like. Sometimes there will be a link to the game developer's website where you can contact them directly to share your opinion.
