Pirate Party Games For a Swashbuckling Kids Party

Pirate party games are simply instant hits when it comes boys birthday parties. Among the classic party themes is the pirate theme, and if you are planning on making this the theme for your kid's upcoming birthday, you can rest assured that you are one great step on the road towards making a wonderful time for your children. To make a swashbuckling fun party, however, you need to be prepared with pirate party ideas. Here are some of the best ideas for you.

Two-patch Captain Game

No pirate party theme is complete without an eye patch. In this game, you will need two eye patches that are to be placed on the player's two eyes. Once the 'blind captain' finishes counting 1 to 10, the game begins. Essentially, the goal is for the blind captain to catch somebody. Once he catches somebody, the person caught is the next blind captain. To ensure that the game is extra fun, the game is best played by seven or more children. The ideal location for playing the game is also a smaller than usual room, which will make the game more difficult and consequently, more fun.

Pirate treasure hunt

Another of the great pirate party games that you can opt for is a pirate treasure hunt. A classic treasure hunt game is transformed to swashbuckling pirate fun in the pirate treasure hunt. Begin the game with pieces of parchment where the first clues to the game can be found. The treasures should have been hidden in advance, of course, and in each step that the little pirates perform and in each reward that they discover, another clue is given until they reach the ultimate pirate treasure hunt. To make the game much more fun, make sure that the children playing the game are all dressed in pirate attire and that they all use pirate language. The pirate birthday party supplies should also be in line with the theme.

Pirate ship chase

If your little pirate is a fan of speed as well as of water, another great pirate theme party game that can be played at the party is the pirate ship chase. The setting for this game is a swimming pool, or at least an inflatable pool set up in the backyard. Give each player a remote operated toy boat. At the count of five, all the players should be seated at the pool side, and once the game begins, the little ships will try to chase the gold ship. The gold ship is the toy boat that is controlled by the parents or another person who is not a player. The first pirate ship to chase the gold boat wins the game.

With a wide variety of pirate party games to choose from, one of the best themes to be chosen for a child's birthday party is the pirate theme. Play one or all of these games and you can be sure that your children and their friends are in for some major fun. Just remember to get some nice drinks and snacks to accompany the games for the best pirate experience ever!

Video Games - Not Good For People?

I love that question. It's usually a topic of discussion among those that like to criticize video games, and nothing more, letting their peers and friends know that games are good for only one purpose, "rotting one's brain." What? Show me the stats where it explains, in specific detail, that video games are the cause for "rotting people's brains." I think where this whole stereotype stemmed from is the fact that video games carry one element with it that most other forms of entertainment don't: Interactivity. It's a result of this interactivity, the fact that your doing more than participating passively, that has people worried. But it still doesn't make sense. Do you ever hear people mentioning that movies are bad for you because it's not good for your brain? Comments along those lines. The answer is obvious - probably not. Same with virtually any other form of entertainment. Again, it's just not clear to me.

Let's break things down a little more. Let's face it, people have this stereotypical image of their kids sitting on a couch, and basically looking like nothing more than a bunch zombies. You know, you're right in front of your television, in a darkened room, eyes wide opened, staring at a television - that type of image. Not good. Now let's go back to movies for a second. What's the main source of action that is being done when watching a movie? That's right, staring at the television screen, or in some cases, your local movie theatre screens. So then, why don't we have a stereotypical image of hundreds of people at our local movie theatres, in a darkened room, eyes wide opened, all looking like zombies? The answer: I have no idea!

There might be one thing that has caused this particular stereotype, and that could be the amount of time some video games are played during one sitting. Even though this may be true, there is still one crucial factor that would dispute this claim - that answer would be television. It's not uncommon to see someone watch television for several hours at any given time. Once again, the only action being taken while watching television, is that of passively watching. Well, you might be able to factor in changing the channels as some sort of action, but that's besides the point.

Regardless of where this stereotype for video games came from, and regardless of where it began, there's no disputing the fact that it still exists. Even today, it is unfortunately very much alive. It's changing though. Not long ago, a new system was released that you may have heard of, the Nintendo Wii. The Wii's control interface is very different from what you would find in a more traditional video game system. It's main premise is motion-based. Meaning, the games that you play have you moving your arms around, and in some cases, your entire body. That's where Wii Fit comes in, an upcoming new release for the Nintendo Wii that has you moving your entire body around. The introduction of motion-based interaction is really starting to penetrate the "video game consciousness." As a result of this "penetration", it is helping to tear down, layer by layer, all of the negative stereotypes that have been associated with the video game industry for far too long.

Breaking down these "negative layers" is really what the industry, as a whole, is focused on. It's a weird thing, because I can almost guarantee that the people that do criticize the industry for these types of things, are usually the ones that know nothing about it. Like all things in life, you have to try and find balance. Whether that's playing video games, watching t.v., or listening to music, it simply doesn't matter. So, are video games not good for people? Personally, I think that's completely untrue. In reverse, video games can be something that brings joy, fun, and excitement. The decision though is not mine - That answer is reserved for each individual, nothing more and nothing less.

Loaded Metal - Flash Game Walkthrough

General

Loaded Metal is a fast paced defensive shooter styled game where you are in control of high tech military vehicle. You may have difficulty controlling the car if you are new to flash games as vehicle control in games is much more difficult then character control. The story of this game is that the military was aware of an upcoming attack on our country, so you and some of your best men were sent off to stop the attack, but it failed. You were able to escape to base, where you must upgrade your vehicle with weapons in order to stop the enemy assault. In order to win you must be able to hold off the enemy for 20 days without dying. The controls are as followed: Arrows keys to move, or WASD keys. Space or click to shoot.

Upgrades!

Of course the upgrades! The coolest part of any game, and this one isn't short of a few awesome upgrades. There are 13 upgrades in total. Some are one time buys and others can be upgraded multiple times. Here is a complete list of upgrades:

Durable Bumper: Costs 100, isn't upgradable.
Chrome Bumper: Costs 200, isn't upgradable.
**Spiked Bumper: Costs 350, isn't upgradable.
Turn Radius: Costs 75, is upgradable.
Rocket Boost: Costs 250, isn't upgradable.
**Turret: Costs 125, is upgradable.
**Mines: Costs 200, is upgradable.
**Armor Plating: Costs 125, is upgradable.
Health: Costs 75, isn't upgradable, but can be bought many times
**Gun Man: Costs 150, is upgradable.
**Power Core: Costs 250, isn't upgradable.
Gold Bullet: Costs 175, isn't upgradable.
**Split Shot: Costs 200, isn't upgradable.

The ones that I put the ** next to are the upgrades I feel that are most important. The spiked bumper is good for killing all foot soldiers with one hit, and for inflicting good damage on vehicles when they hit you. The gunman and the turret are essential to destroying vehicles so you don't have to rely on just ramming them because you take damage that way. Mines are efficient tank and car killers, so you need some of those. The power core makes your bullets ALOT stronger, so invest some money in that. Split shot is great also, if you can get all 3 bullets to hit one enemy then you are inflicting massive damage, and it's good crowd control in case you have a bunch of enemies in front of you, then you can damage them all. Armor plating helps you not to die as quick, but mainly it makes you look awesome, so upgrade that. The rest are important too, I just found the ones I liked best and put the ** next to them. You may want rocket boost so you can go a lot faster and cause extra ramming damage, or have a better turn radius so you can be more efficient when turning around and shooting those pesky enemy jeeps.

Strategies/Game Help

If you look in the upgrades section I talked a good bit about using the upgrades, so that can be considered part of the strategies section. But here is my quick guide for the full game. The game starts off slow with few enemies, so I recommend buying the gun man and upgrade some of it's damage, then just ride around the game field and pick off enemies as they show up. Begin investing in a turret, some kind of better bumper, and split shot by the time enemy jeeps begin to show up, ramming them just isn't as effective. You should buy some mines so it's easier to kill the jeeps, the mines take away a good portion of their health so they can be destroyed much quicker. If you get low on health of course buy some health but make sure to buy some armor plating too so it's harder to die. At this point you should be doing okay, the combination of your gun man, your turret, and mines should be destroying the enemy jeeps decently. Once the tanks start to show up you will be in trouble though. MAKE SURE NOT TO GET STUCK UNDER THE TANK OR IT WILL RUN YOU OVER AND KILL YOU. Get a power core so you can waste away those beastly tanks. Just make sure to keep upgrading your weapons and don't die of course and you should be able to win. Good Luck and remember this is just my opinion on how to win, there are many other methods and upgrade combinations. Play around in the free play mode to see what upgrades suit you best.

A Computer Game Tester Job is More Than Fun

There are a variety of reasons why a computer game tester job is important. While it's true the latter can be fun, a beta tester's job involves a great deal of hard work. The designers, writers and programmers create the games, but it is the tester who actually makes sure they function as intended

In reality, the is the hero of the video game industry. When a computer beta tester does his/her job correctly, a game can shine flawlessly. When they don't do their job right, mistakes and glitches can end up being published in the final cut. It can be as simple as miss colored trash can. Or the errors can be complex as the jumping system needs to be changed entirely. These issues could end up costing a the developer lots of money to fix or money in lost sales if the problems are too great. The problem are also more costly and harder to fix after the game is released

Top reasons why a computer game tester job is vital include:

Quality assurance. The computer game tester job is meant to provide quality assurance for an upcoming title release. These people are charged with getting to know a game inside out and backwards and try to cause the game to crash. It is the computer game tester position holder's purpose to bring mistakes, errors, glitches and suggestions to the development team. If they handle their jobs as expected, the end result will be a game that's as free from errors as possible.

Continuity. The game tester is also responsible for making sure complex worlds follow the patterns set forth by developers, writer's an programmers. If a quest in an RPG tells a player to go see "Ted" and the non-player character on the other end has been keyed in as "Bill," the beta tester is charged with finding this error of continuity and requesting its correction.

Playability assurances. In addition to quality, it is the testers position holder's job to make sure games play as they should. They check to make sure different functions of a work correctly, that text matches actions, that sound and graphics groove together. Issues are present in these areas and they are not caught, the playability can be jeopardized. Games that are impossible to win due to glitches tend to not do very well on the market.

Fix confirmation. While it's the computer beta tester person's job to find the mistakes, it can also be their task to make sure those mistakes are fixed. The programmers, designers and other team members will actually make the fixes in the software, but it's up to the tester to make sure the problems have been resolved and that new ones don't appear as a result.

A beta tester might not be the driving force behind the creation of a video game title, but they are critical members of the production team. The unsung heroes of the games industry, the computer game tester is much more important than many people realize.

Becoming A Video Game Tester - Tips On Finding Video Game Tester Jobs

How to get paid to play video games.

One of the best things about becoming a video game tester is that the qualifications aren't that high. You have to be 18 or older, have at least one game system, and you have to be very thorough and dedicated. If this sounds like you than you will probably make a great video game tester. Most of the testers that are hired are in their teens or early twenties because they try to target people who actually play the games most.

Video games are just like any other piece of software. This means that they have to go through meticulous testing to ensure that they will perform flawlessly before it is released to the public. Games go through hours and hours of testing before this. It's a hard job but someone's got to do it, might as well be you.

You can get paid up to $80 an hour for your work but I've heard of some testers earning as much as $120 an hour.

Generally you will be working at home, although some companies have huge in house testing departments.

One of the downsides of becoming a game testing is that you will play through each level over and over and over again. This will help you to determine what is causing certain errors and glitches but it can get very boring. Once you have determined the cause of the error and what the error is, you will be required to write a detailed report. The game will then be re-programmed and then guess what? You will test it again.

At first, game testing sounds like it would be a great job where you just play video games all day and have a great time but after playing the same game for hundreds of hours in a row, you may soon tire of the profession.

The good news is that game companies are always on the lookout for new testers of their upcoming products so if you can make the right connections, there will always be fresh games for you to test. You get to play the games long before the general public and you get paid very will for it. The number of game developers looking for testing is constantly growing. You usually work from home but there are sometimes when you will work at a company facility. You can work on as many projects as you can handle.

The majority of testers who I've met work on a part time basis to earn extra income. The better a game player you are, the more money you will ultimately earn.

It's very important to make as many contacts as possible. These contacts will be crucial for you to be referred to companies looking for video game testers. The gaming industry has evolved into a multi billion-dollar business, and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

Planning Out Upcoming Baby Showers

When it comes to someone you know having a new baby in their lives, there is a lot that they are going to have on their plate. However, there are a few different things that you can do to help them along, and one of these is throwing baby showers.

One of the most important aspects concerning baby showers is inviting all of the people that you believe will come, that the expecting mother or father knows. You see, you can get very much in depth with a guest list, but it might be a little bit better to ensure that the mother to be is aware of who all is coming.

Fathers do not typically participate in baby showers, unless of course the mother is rather shy or demands his presence. This is usually a land of women, and so this makes it something for women to bond together over and participate in together.

You have to ensure that you have devised several different fun games for the guests to play together. It might be fun and interesting to get them all active with one another and meeting everyone else there if possible. You are going to want them to take the time to appreciate the mother and also appreciate the new baby, so take the time to ensure the games you choose do both of these.

You have to understand that while showers are meant to be fun for all, they are also secondly meant to give the new mother some much needed supplies for the journey ahead. Ensure that your mother of honor has made a registry of needed items and ensure that guests have received a way to find these items easily.

There is really not a lot that will go into planning baby showers, but you need to consider a few different things to ensure that you are getting it right. While there might be more to consider than what was listed above, you might just have to sit down with the mother and see what she really wants at the event.

Top Upcoming MMORPG Games of 2010

2010 is shaping up to be a very exciting year for fans of MMORPG games. The big dog in the house is of course still World of Warcraft, but there are plenty other releases that show great promise. We have already seen the launch of interesting titles such as Star Trek Online and Global Agenda, but the best is yet to come. Developers have been trying out new concepts, new ideas and constantly tweaking game modes to deliver new and innovative online experiences. It's not only paid subscription style games that have been booming, free MMORPG games have become much better recently. With that said, the games we are looking forward to playing the most this year are:

Star Wars - The Old Republic

Bioware has tons of experience in developing RPG games, but not so much in MMORPG games. That shouldn't stop Star Wars - The Old Republic from becoming a smash hit. Sci-Fi MMO RPG games have had it tough for some reason and haven't really managed to get the same following as most of the fantasy inspired games. Closest would probably be Eve Online or Star Wars Galaxies. Things could change with the release of this title from Bioware though. The game may actually not be ready until 2011 though, even if Bioware will probably try to get it ready for a launch for the holiday season sales.

Final Fantasy XIV

The latest Final Fantsay MMORPG game is now several years old and it's time for a new one. FF XIV will have new different races to play with as well as a new armor system that lets players switch skills easier than previously. Square Enix will also be moving the setting to a new world, though still heavily fantasy inspired.

Allods Onlne

One launch that everyone is getting really excited for is Allods Online. Allods Online is a free to play massive multiplayer online role playing game under development by the Russian developers Astrum Nival. The game is based on the Rage of Mages games and will feature eight different character classes and six races as well as a magical and compelling world to explore. The unique setting takes place on floating islands (Avatar anyone?) in the cosmos known as Astral. This game will be one to watch for sure.

Baby Shower Games That You Can Play For A Fun Baby Shower

A baby brings joy and will always be the focus of the family. For a starting couple, the first thing they think about is to have a baby. There are no words to explain the feeling of a couple starting a family. The anticipation of a coming baby excites everyone including friends, family and neighbors. For this a baby shower will be planned as well as the shower games will be prepared.

Baby shower is celebrated differently in different countries around the globe. However, all have the same purpose and that is to shower gifts for the most awaited baby to say hello to the world. Foods and drinks are usually shared in this wonderful event. However, the things that give the occasion more fun and entertainment are the baby shower games.

There are numerous games that you can think of for the baby shower. You just have to be creative enough to make the party games more exciting and fun. Watching both young and old guests playing and interacting with each other can bring out joy to everyone. The following games may be used to entertain everyone in the upcoming event.

The "find the safety pins" game looks like an easy game. Safety pins are put inside a bowl and then mixed with rice. Players will have to find the safety pins. It sounds like it is among one of the easiest baby shower games but there is a catch. In a minute a player must find the pins while blindfolded. The one who gets the greatest number of safety pins wins the game.

Now, let us get the participation of everyone in the party. The "pass the gift" shower game will sure excite the guests. Beforehand, a gift must be wrapped in multi-layer colored paper. A host and someone to start-stop the music must be assigned. While the music is playing, the host will pass on the gift to the people in the party. The last person to remove the last layer of the gift wrap reveals the gift. That last person will be declared winner and gets the gift as his prize.

Another ice-breaker game that you can do is the "guess how many" game. This game is simple yet fun that can be participated with all the guests in the occasion. You simply get a bottle and fill it with candies. Let the guests guess how many are inside the bottle. The one whose guest is the closest to actual count of the candies wins the game.

Baby showers are a very special occasion for the mum to be. Plan and host the perfect baby shower by going to our baby shower games site. You'll find games, theme ideas and even baby gifts and favours to give to guests so everyone will absolutely love your baby shower event.

Rare Video Games - It Might Be Tough to Get Your Retro Fix

In a world cluttered with every imaginable virtual reality-based video game you can think of: from the alter-ego induced reality of the Sims to the real-time online interactive phenomenon of World of Warcraft, one can only escape the hyper-stimulation of these "reality" games by seeking out the retro games of yesteryear. With the ever-growing hype that is already flooding the cyber airspace of the upcoming Disney reboot, "Tron: Legacy", more and more gamers are hungry for the satisfaction that can only come from seeking out those rare video games - those gems of the good old days - and in doing so, what could have cost you a dime or a two in a bin at the local gaming shop can now cost you a pretty penny on eBay.

But that doesn't mean you can't get your retro game fix for less than the latest PlayStation releases go for. You just have to know where to look. Some companies have specifically made it their mission to bring back those games of old. One said company is Opcode who specifically releases old ColecoVision games such as "Yie Ar Kung-Fu" and "Road Fighter". Including more popular games such as "Space Invaders" and "Pac-Man", these individual games can cost you around $40 (and you have to have a working ColecoVision game system to play the games), so if you are looking for something even more inexpensive, there are other channels you can consider.

MAME (Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator) is readily available online for free and once you understand how to download the program and its corresponding game "ROMs", you can experience all the old games that you remember playing at the local roller rink or bowling alley, but now without having to have pockets full of quarters. MAME utilizes the actual programs from the original stand-up video game systems and gives you a nearly perfect representation on images and sounds - those blips and beeps that will awaken the retro gamer inside each and every one of us.

Of course, if you are devoted to the game systems of today, you can still play many retro games on the Wii and PlayStation, most of which have been refitted with updates and extras you wouldn't be able to find on the old games. But for those hardcore retro fans, playing these games in the original format may not be an option but with the vast resources available online, you can easily play these rare video games on your own computer or even on the original game systems (if you still have them) and not have to pay the high dollar price tag that comes with most video games today.

Gaming Bliss in Online Game Rental

When I was younger I remember being disappointed countless times by empty shelves at my local video game rental store. I would arrive anticipating playing the latest title only to be turned away because they were out of copies. Local rental stores simply do not have the square footage or budget to overstock their shelves with every hot new release that hits the gaming world. Fortunately for me and thousands of other gaming enthusiasts around the country we don't have to worry about that anymore. Online game rental services have reshaped game rental for the better, and there's no looking back. The benefits that come with renting video games online include lower price, better availability, and speedier service.

There's no need to spend $60 on a title you've never played, and there's no need to drive all over town looking for a copy to rent. Online game rental services offer plans as low as $10 a month for unlimited game rental (1 game at a time), up to around $40 a month (5 games at a time). Talk about a no brainer, you can spend $60 on a chance game that you may not even like, or spend $10 and try out multiple games. It gets better. If you enjoy the games you are trying you can contact your provider and purchase it on the spot, usually for a reduced amount. The games come to you.

With online game rental you have the ability to choose from over 6000 titles, from a vast array of systems. You don't have to worry about games being out of stock, and you don't have to worry about a lack of selection when you rent video games online. Most of these companies even offer an amazing selection of handheld games if you want to try out new and upcoming titles on your DS or PSP. You can choose from over 6000+ video games that are shipped directly to your house with no late fees or from a couple wire racks at your local rental store. It seems like an easy choice.

Concerned about playing that brand new release the day it's out? No worries there. As with local video game stores like Gamestop, online game rental companies like Gamefly receive games from publishers days before street release. This means that if you have selected your desired game on your list, they will ship it out to you so you can be playing that brand new title immediately. When you get bored of whatever game or games you are currently playing, send them back and the provider will immediately send you the next game on your list. It's almost like having your personal video game butler.

Doug Preston maintains a website on online game rental [http://www.online-game-rental-reviewer.com] where you can learn more about its benefits, and read featured reviews on a few of the companies who offer the service.

Role Playing Games - The Old School Way

Back in the days when only Cpt. Kirk and NASA had computers role play games where played very differently from the way most experience them today in the Internet age. This genre of hobby was the purview of the kitchen table and the local hobby shop; a universe in which the monsters and heroes found their courage flowing from uniquely numbered dice and the pages of a book. In the beginning Role Play Games or RPG's refereed to any game in which the participants assume roles, often as fantasy characters in a scenario that develops as the game progresses. The first widely known game Dungeons & Dragons originally by E. Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson, first published in 1974 by TSR was set in a mythical medieval world. Since then the genre has grown to encompass a wide variety of games that take place in an endless number of settings future, past, and present that have a similar means of play.

The basic aspects of what makes up an RPG can best be described by braking down the different game elements. The first is the "game world or universe" and comprises the physical aspects, realities and relative era in which the game takes place. Each RPG game exists in its own universe where certain unique realities govern the various scenarios in the games scope. The second is "game mechanics" and refers to the system of rules and die rolls used to determine the outcome of player actions. Most RPG games have a similar approach to game mechanics as far as die rolls but vary widely in player character options. The third is the game scenario which is usually made up of a back story, location information, and lists of hazards and treasures relative to the adventure being undertaken by the players. There is generally a goal to any given scenario to give the players a rational for undertaking the hazards involved.

Tabletop Role Play Games (sometimes referred to a pen and dice RPG's) are universally run by a moderator often referred to as the game master who is both the administrator of game rules (who must possess copies of the rules texts) and a story teller. The game master takes on multiple roles playing (acting out) the parts of the characters and monsters that players encounter in the adventure. The game master will utilize scenario texts to describe the scenes to the players keeping certain information confidential until the players actions warrant discovery. This can best be illustrated by a simple scenario where there is a room that contains a secret (hidden) closet that contains an item of value. The game master would describe every detail of the room as the players enter but not reveal the hidden closet until the players actively search for it; and then only if die rolls (as required by game mechanics) indicate they have found it. It is not the game master's job to trick the players or engage in adversarial play rather it is their job to utilize scenario texts to lead the players on an adventure.

The players of an RPG take on different persona's based on possibilities presented by the game universe. In most games they have the choice of playing mythical creatures such as elves, dwarfs, or humans who possess skills such as sorcerers, thieves, or warriors. The players, utilizing the game rules, create player characters using die rolls to determine specific physical attributes such as strength, intelligence, magical ability etc. They then equip these characters with basic clothing, armor, and weapons as well as provisions and tools in preparation for upcoming adventures. The goal of the player in any RPG is to advance their character in ability and wealth through the undertaking of hazardous quests. The same player character will usually have many adventures in many different scenarios within a given game universe becoming more able to face greater challenges for greater reward as time goes by. It is quite common for players to identify with their characters as they become experienced through continuous game play. Over time players and game masters become ever better at the role playing aspect (acting out your character) which in turn makes the games an ever more immersive experience.

The appeal of tabletop RPG's is both escapism and social interaction with a group of like-minded friends. Unlike the on-line versions the tabletop RPG gamer comes together with friends and family on a regular basis to experience adventures in strange magical lands. Many groups dress up in costumes or meet in a special room they have decorated to set the mood. Still may more simply game at the kitchen table till the wee hours of the morning battling dragons, saving the universe or unlocking the ancient secrets of fantastic treasures.

The Future Of 3-D And Social Media Video Gaming

Will we be rocking games in 3D? Will we all purchase through the internet? Where does the future lie?

Don't worry, the gaming industry is in no mood to leave your living room so soon. It's not astounding to see the market expansion. Games at present are more reality based and one enjoys playing with more fun. The industry works on the mantra of more games, more fun, more sales. At times the question arises what might the future look like? No matter how advance technology becomes, certain aspects of gaming will remain intact.

No matter how advanced your game is you always need an opponent to make it exciting. The emergence of clans is just a token of what will happen when it becomes mainstream. Professional league games will definitely entertain millions of its fans one day.

Game developers are not only capitalizing games that involve hands but all 5 senses. So it can be said in near future games will be created that can be seen, heard, tasted and even smelt. Today you only use sense of sight and hearing but in upcoming years you are going to play games beyond a simple screen and speakers.

It is also predicted that future technology will revolutionize by switching from typical monitors and TVs to flat screens. Once this device is created, standardized and mass produced it will provide highest levels of realism needed to attract gamers to the e-gaming playground.

With Ethereal technologies, groundwork has been laid for new visual display revolution. Without the use of glasses the volumetric imaging system let gamers to enjoy the real 3D effect while gaming. At present games 3D are highly preferred over 2D graphics and game developers are involved in revolutionizing 3D games into real holographic display device that provides more amusement to the gamers.

Like said earlier, with future advancements gamers are not only going to hear the effects but will also feel the shock waves of that game. Rumblefx is the best example of this, Rumblefx headphones are designed to produce shocks and vibrations during a game.

It's a universal law the thing that is cost effective and inexpensive is highly attained by masses. Gaming and computer consoles are affordable at present, if you believe this statement future games are surely going to be sold with reasonable price tags. Games in future are going to be extremely advanced, well equipped with latest technology and will be reasonable as long as you compare the prices with its technology.

You can generate your own avatars, models, maps like the way you do today. Obviously the 3D holography file will contain more in-depth specifications and detailed characteristics. You will love to customize your own game with lots of variety in it.

Since children are more into e-games rather than going into real playground and for this reason game developers have added educational essence to their games. In that very account gamers learn while enjoying their games. In future this essence is going to play a vital role. Future games will be designed according to the basic learning and education of then children. When the educational support will be incorporated with powerful tool of e-gaming entertainment, the didactic and instructive power of games will be realized.

Another e-gaming trend which is more likely to gain popularity and advancement in near future is SOCIAL GAMING. Social gaming is an idea of placing games like Farmville, Mafia Wars, and Restaurant City in social networking sites like Facebook etc. However another social gaming category involves players from all over the world to interact and play. Whichever way you wish to look at social gaming it is here to stay. So e-gaming in social gaming is predicted to expand and capture several gamers of present era.

Online Games Relieve Your Stress

Whether you're at school, college or work - stress is inevitable. This is an unarguable reality, and can be detrimental to your health. How can it affect your wellbeing, you ask? Anxiety alone is identified as a cause of 'obsessive-compulsive disorder' (OCD). Setting aside the scientific jargon, allow me to show you how online games can help you.

You may find yourself overwhelmed with assignments at some point, or unprepared for an upcoming exam or test. You may be in a hectic situation at your job, but in desperate need for that bonus or promotion. At times such as these, the ideal resort may not be to intensify the workload, but rather take a momentary break. The key to your productivity is the time-span of your breaks. Your perfect choice, in such a situation, may just be online games!

Your second question now arises - why online games? First and foremost, they don't consume a significant amount of your time. With a few clicks, you could be playing an online game within seconds - far better than scavenging for an open coffee shop especially after midnights. An excess of caffeine, while effective upon consumption, will lead to you being worn out in the hours that follow. On the other hand, resorting to an instant messenger or a social-networking website may stretch for longer than you anticipated. Secondly, online games give your mind a much needed break from work, while preventing it from going into a complete shutdown. As such, online games at Arcade Temple will divert any thoughts of you being exhausted or even sleepy. Better yet, online games may quite plausibly revitalize you, making you far more productive when you return to the task at hand.

Even so, I cannot emphasize enough the amount of time you devote to online games. Begin each task by setting benchmarks (varying by the assignment's magnitude), with an estimated time of completion for each one of these targets and what you would like to accomplish by then. Jot this down so you don't forget! Attempt to set an hourly benchmark, taking a break with online games at this instance to refresh your mind. The length of your break for online games, then, should be no longer than 10 minutes for every hour worked. The perfect formula to calculate the time you invest in online games is 10 percent of the amount of hours worked since your last break. In an ideal world, this would equate to 6 minutes for online games after every 60 minutes worked. It's rather defined, but abide by this rule and stress will become inexistent.

I can assure you that a few odd minutes of your time playing online games at perhaps Arcade Temple will increase your efficiency ten-folds; call it 'mental investment' if you will.

Bored? Taking a break? Play free online games at Arcade Temple (http://www.arcadetemple.com) - your source for online games!

Upcoming Tablet Computers Launched at 2011 CES

The 2011 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas has brought a new wave of innovative, slender touchscreen tablets PCs and electronic reading devices to the marketplace.

Some of these tablets will allow you to surf the Web, watch movies and play casual games without the need to rely on a bulky laptop and its traditional keyboard. Other gadgets focus on features such as reading for long periods of time without killing the batteries and without eye strain, e.g. the Kindle 3G Wireless Reading Device.

Although Apple's iPad tablet computer is still the market leader in the emerging market for tablets, it probably won't be for long, due to its price. Analysts think the new Apple tablet to be launched around March / April could cost anywhere from $700 to $1,000, and probably will be a fully functional computer, rather than a more passive device for reading books and watching movies. That could help justify the higher price tag.

In contrast, the tablet design unveiled by Freescale at 2011 CES in Las Vegas could sell for as little as $200.

In anticipation of Apple's launch of iPad 2, Steven A. Ballmer, Microsoft's chief executive, showed off at 2011 CES a new Hewlett-Packard tablet PC running Windows 7 with a full-color touch screen displaying videos and books.

At the 2011 CES, Lenovo (the Chinese computer manufacturer) showed an innovative tablet PC called the Lenovo IdeaPad U1 Hybrid Notebook. It appears to be a regular laptop, until the screen pops out of its shell and it becomes a slender, glossy touchscreen tablet running a Linux-based operating system.

Spring Design, a Taiwanese start-up, showed off at 2011 CES a dual screen e-book device, the Alex e-Reader, that has a 3.5-inch color display and a 6-inch black-and-white display. This reading device, which is expected to be out in February 2011 and cost $349, could display book and video hybrids.

Many more tablets are expected to be launched this year. In a new 5-year forecast just released, Forrester Research said it expected tablet PCs to grow as fast as MP3 players in the United States, and projected that 82 million Americans would own tablet computers by 2015.

Video Game Tester Jobs: Which One Is Right For You?

Seems a lot of people these days are interested in becoming paid video game testers. With all the excitement surrounding the release of the latest gaming consoles like the PS3 and Nintendo Wii, this is no surprise. So let's take a look at the different types of jobs that are available for gamers.

Job 1: Self-Employed Video Game Tester

Everyday people are searching online for information and reviews about the latest game releases. Some very smart gamers are filling that demand by putting up their own websites and blogs and writing reviews of games as they play them. They also include tips, screenshots and more that their visitors will find useful. By adding Google Adsense ads or other advertiser's ads to their websites, they've created their own video game testing business that makes money everyday - just for playing games and telling others about it!

Job 2: Freelance Video Game Tester

Some gamers with a bit more experience and motivation take things up a notch. These gamers actively seek out companies who produce games and offer to test their upcoming release for bugs, playability and other features. This type of work pays very well, but requires the video game tester to be able to communicate and write very clearly - and also to be very punctual. As a freelance video game tester, you'll be expected to play unreleased games from the comfort of your own home, provide written feedback as instructed by the developer and return this information within a specified time frame. Your reward for this? A big fat paycheck by mail!

Job 3: Full-time Corporate Game Tester

It is also possible to get hired by large game developers for a full time game testing position. These are the ultimate dream jobs for many gamers, but are very difficult to get. They require a high level of communication and writing skills plus plenty of experience. On the other hand, the reward is that much greater too - a high paying, secure, full-time job doing what you enjoy most - gaming! Many gamers build up the experience needed to get these types of positions by working as freelance video game testers until they've built up a solid resume of completed assignments.

As you can see, there are many ways to make money playing video games. A bit of time spent sharpening up your writing skills combined with your interest in gaming and a desire to share your knowledge with others can easily add up to a great job!

The Growing Popularity of Free & Casual Games

Free online internet gaming has exploded over the past 10 years and now comprises of a large collection of game developers, publishers, web portals and millions of casual game players. Talented game developers are in more limited supply than publishers and portals, yet even they are steadily growing in supply as more companies and brands look for sponsorship deals with high quality upcoming free games.

Wide brand exposure can be gained from sponsoring free online games and more companies are looking towards game sponsorship and in game product placement as a serious advertising platform. Portals are in the greatest supply with a huge amount of gaming orientated sites offering the developers creations, indeed some game developers also offer their own web portals such Ninjakiwi and Armor Games. These are two of the more popular and innovative gaming developers with Armor Games holding a top 1000 traffic rating.

Behind such successes are talented flash game designers and coders, it is usually one or two experienced designers that plant the seeds from which top free gaming websites flourish. Casual gaming both free and paid downloads have become so huge online that the genre has the greatest presence in the world's most highly trafficked websites.

Ninjakiwi have an in house team of developers, they are owners of the very popular brand of games named Bloons. The first Bloons game was introduced back in mid 2007 and the series has already been played hundreds of millions of times. If you compare such an audience exposure rate to the most popular video watched on you tube, it is easy to see why advertisers are turning to free online games to reach global audiences. What's more intriguing are the demographics behind casual game players with a considerable percentage of the audience being young adults. This demographic has caught the attention of many blue chip companies including mobile giants Orange and O2 who regularly advertise through Mochiads - an in game preloading ads platform.

As the advertising revenue increases for free games so will the creativity, detail and complexity of their design. Developers are now creating games targeted specifically at certain age ranges, including teens, young adults and mums.

Ninjakiwis' list of games is expanding rapidly. As their brand has received greater exposure over the past year they have branched out from their original success of Bloons to produce other games with different concepts, some have been received with more enthusiasm than others. Some of their successes include:

Bloons - Including the player packs, more bloons and even more bloons, tower defense games, hot air bloon, bloons pop 3
Boombot Games - 1 and 2
Hotcorn Games - 1 and 2
Potion Madness
Powerpool
Replay Racer - 1 and 2
Rings
Shinju
Sinta
Zeba

Ninjakiwi has established a loyal fan base with their range being published across hundreds of medium to large sized gaming portals. One of their advertising platforms is through the previously mentioned Mochiads, a major advertising platform for both game developers and game publishers who earn revenue from publishing games. A small advert is shown whilst each game is loading in a web browser, developers and publishers earn money from game impressions and advert clicks.

The other free games developer previously mentioned, Armor games, is the larger of the 2. Armor develops in house games and sponsors independent developers, funding their creations and offering revenue sharing across their advertising platform. Armor games has a much more extensive range games than Ninjakiwi and has funded the creation of some of the most imaginative games on the internet, a list of some of their best games is compiled below:

Armed with Wings - 1 and 2
Crush the Castle
Hedgehog Launch
Hedgehog Launch 2
Fancy Pants Adventure - 1 and 2
Gemcraft
Gemcraft Chapter 0
The Last Stand 1 & 2
Pillage the Village
Sonny
Sonny 2
Warfare 1917

It is common to find developers and portals alike sharing each other's games. This idea was originally invoked by the biggest casual free game provider on the internet - Miniclip.com. Their success grew from allowing webmasters to publish their games on thousands of smaller sites. Sharing and creating viral copies of successful games can prove a very lucrative strategy on the internet.

There are many more high quality game developers, publishers and portals, ones worth a mention include Crazy Monkey Games, Addicting Games, Newgrounds and Kongregate.
Free game production has also seen the remake of many old classic arcade games which will delight fans of the 80's arcade.

Classic games such as PacMan, Ms PacMan, Space Invaders, Pong and Frogger have all been remade using flash and are now available to play as free online games. Paul Neave, a talented flash developer is responsible for such flash reproductions.

More comprehensive flash gaming communities have sprung up within this landmark 10 year period of growth. One example of an immensely popular community is MechQuest, this is one of currently 5 flash games created by Artix Entertainment. MechQuest is an online Fantasy/Sci-Fi Web RPG game that offers both a free and premium paid side. The game is built using flash and has millions of members in its community. Striking a balance between casual and hardcore game play it aims to offer a compromise allowing players who do not wish to spend all day at their PC's a casual multiplayer experience.

Of course free online games such as MechQuest, AdventureQuest, DragonFable, ArchKnight and BattleOn.com are a step in the right direction for what online gaming should be about (if we are looking from a healthy perspective), they offer gamers a balanced dosage of online fun which don't require a lifelong commitment to progress and gain in game rewards. The total opposite would be games such as World of Warcraft which are designed to reward excessive amounts of game play.

The free games market will continue to its rapid growth in the foreseeable future and more developers will come into the market. Whether flash will remain the markets main publishing platform remains to be seen but for now it will keep its dominant position with all free online game developers using it. Fans can expect to find more elaborate free online flash games being introduced in the coming years as free games compete and very much encroach upon paid game audiences.

Many of the free online games mentioned above can all be played at Games Lunatic, including Ninjakiwi's popular monkey games.
