Video Game Tester Jobs At Home

The first thing you want to prepare yourself for when looking for video game tester jobs at home is the thought of rejection and not being experienced enough to handle the task. There is a lot of mystery when it comes to this career path.

I bet you really feel like this is your goal in life and for some reason can't seem to find some good solid advice when it comes to becoming a video game tester, right?

Well whatever the case may be I can tell you it isn't absolutely impossible. Game tester job openings are quite uncommon which is due to the fact that they are not jobs you normally see in the classifieds section of your local newspaper. But if you live in an area close to these game developers it may be a little easier for you to get video game tester jobs.

One thing a lot of gamers don't know is that you can make special arrangements with video game companies to let you try exclusive unreleased copies of their creations and either keep it or pay you for your knowledgeable feedback. But the best part about that is once you start doing good freebie work for these developers they will more often than not give you cash consistently for upcoming projects. And even better, you can kick back at home while you do it.

A smart way to slowly work up to that is playing beta versions of video games online and work with the creators in finding bugs then have them write a recommendation for your services, which is never a bad thing to put in your resume.

Then when your ready to handle a real job seek out entry level game tester job openings with major companies that will let you work from home either on your computer or by mail.

A good wage to make off the bat is about ten to fifteen bucks an hour or more. To succeed in this line of work you will need awesome communication skills both written and verbal when relaying your findings between you and the lead tester in charge of the projects.

The second most important trait to possess is an absolute love for playing video games. This includes playing a level over and over again looking for bugs, trying it numerous amounts of ways and using various button commands throughout.

But don't let any of this scare you because everybody's individual situation is different.

This is a booming industry and video game tester jobs will become more common than before.

Wholesale Video Games Distributor - Warning

You need to be prepared for the saturation of wholesale video games distributor phenomena that is going to take place and start appearing on the Internet in the following weeks when the Playstation 3 hits the stores in the first weeks of November of this year. Right now there are many buyers taking advantage of the eBay craze of selling Playstation 3 consoles at almost three times the current retail price that is due in launch day. The price of the Playstation 3 will be $600 for the premium package- can you believe what will happen when those PS3 consoles hit the market the hungriness that it will leave for many small based business online?

What I am trying to warn you about is that there will be hundreds if not thousands possible fake wholesale video games distributors that will try to start selling PS3 on the Internet at supposed wholesale prices and even below wholesale prices for such new consoles. While their will be many wholesale games distributors for the purchase of video games and even PS3 related material, as a power seller myself- I will not recommend touching sites that say that you can get Playstation 3 consoles and games at 50-80% in wholesale prices for numerous reasons.

While you can certainly buy wholesale games at 40-95% below the market retail value- you should not be able to purchase legit wholesale PS3 items below wholesale for at least the first 2 years. If you have study this wholesale market the way I have done so- you can compare what happened with PS3 biggest competitor. If you understand what happened here you should know that such giant corporations are not launching a huge stock of consoles in launching dates for numerous marketing reasons that I cannot discuss right now as a fact for multiple reasons. If remembering what happened a year ago with such PS2 and now PS3 competitor, you will know what I am talking about.

You will certainly know that you cannot buy at 50-95% Playstation 3 in any way with direct online distributors or offline distributors or wholesalers. Why? Ask yourself why a company like Sony will allow the sell of wholesale items on their upcoming best-seller at wholesale prices? It is virtually unreasonable to give a seller permit to distribute and sell PS3 at way below retail prices. How do you think that the fortune 500 retail companies will profit from this boom? How do you think that all the companies and CEO owners that hold major stocks at their distribution line will feel if they do not receive a clear cut commission out of the sell of in-demand new market consoles if their were wholesale video games distributors selling below retail prices?

Again, in more than 5 years of being a veteran in the sell of wholesale items both online and offline I can honestly say to you not to look for this for at least the next 2 years. I tell you because, I love buying from wholesale distributors and re-selling merchandises at two and three times the profits. It is of my sole experience and in my opinion to give you- the no, no when it comes to buying PS3 at real wholesale prices for at least the first year. This is a power seller who earns thousands selling wholesale in combined business on the Internet and offline. Use this article as reference and never as wholesale video games distributor legal advice or as a buying guide for online or offline business.

Zelda Skyward Sword Wii System Video Game - My Personal Overview

2011 is going to be all concerning the Zelda Skyward Sword Wii sport. Considered one of the most beneficial upcoming Nintendo Wii video games, so get ready for it!

I know it includes a minigame-like format, but I still count it as a Zelda sport. It has a minimum of 36 phases, divided into 9 sets of 4 stages. Each and every set is determined by an area from Zelda: Twilight Princess. Right after the primary three sets, the sets have to be unlocked by reaching a minimal score in a score attack. As time goes on, it becomes a great deal tougher to achieve that minimum score and to beat your personal earlier higher scores.

Skyward Sword is actually not the very first Wii Zelda sport, just the first Wii Zelda which is the conventional Zelda action-adventure game that was not created for one other procedure. Link's Crossbow Education was technically the primary. It's an entertaining sport, but didn't get the focus it deserved due to the fact Nintendo supplied it low-priced with an accessory (the Zapper), which established the perception of cheapness.

The Zelda video games have stayed within the video games catalog of Nintendo for 23 many years and now, they will be integrating it with all the most current controller of Nintendo, the Wii Motion Plus that will make it possible for the players to be completely concerned from the game.

The Legend of Zelda is absolutely a legend, and Wii has created the game extra memorable using an extra interactive sport play, and highly defined graphics. This sport is definitely one among the releases that Nintendo followers are craving for.

OMG that is going to be the first Zelda game essentially created for a Wii!! How cool is that? Twilight Princess was amazing nevertheless it was meant for GameCube. Now we get a Zelda especially geared for the Wiimote and every little thing. It really is gonna be terrific! Did anybody see the screenshots (above) the place the item menu is shaped like a Wiimote? So cool... the graphics appear so distinct from TP.

I can not wait for Skyward Sword! The story will make or break the game for me and Nintendo hasn't let me down yet. I'm hoping that it can be like Majora's Mask the place you felt committed for the npc's so you just grew to become part of the game. This game looks wonderful but why does not Website link have tights? Perhaps the game is about how Link obtained his tights:P And the game appears absolutely nothing just like the released artwork where by Website link is subsequent for the unidentified blue person/thing/object or what ever it is.

To view the actual game play along with cost data visit the Zelda Skyward Sword Wii game web site. One of the best summary is actually on this web site: Zelda Wii.

Wedding Word Scramble - A Popular Bridal Shower Game Choice

A wedding word scramble game is always a hit at bridal showers! Almost every guest can successfully unscramble at least some of the words, making for a fun race to the finish. And almost every bridal shower hostess can write a great wedding word scramble game.

Here's how:

1. A scramble game is the most fun if it is written especially for the bride being honored, so plan in advance. Don't wait until the last minute.

2. Think of some interesting facts/people/items related to your special couple.

3. Make a list of 15-20 words about the happy couple, including their names, jobs, hobbies, background, etc. Or, make a list of word related to the upcoming wedding. This list might include the names of the attendants, and the locations of the ceremony and reception.

4. Start scrambling your words! If you want to make the words hard-to-solve, I recommend that you not use the actual first letter of the word as the first letter in the scrambled word. For example, if the word is MINSTER, use RISMITEN rather than MIRENSTI. Break up as many letter combinations (TH, ING, ER, etc.) as you can in order to add to the difficulty level.

5. Proof your work. Make sure you've used each letter exactly once in the scrambled word. Nothing would be more frustrating for your guests (or more embarrassing for you!) than to have typos, misspellings or unsolvable words in the game on the day of the wedding shower!

6. Type your game in an appealing format. Use your own computer to experiment with fonts and layout. Double space your lines so guests have plenty of room in which to write. Add some humorous clip art.

7. Print out ONE copy and proof the wedding word scramble game again. It's often easier to find mistakes on a hard copy than on your screen.

8. Print copies for your guests. You can copy the document to a flash drive or CD and take it to a print shop for really nice copies, or use your own home office equipment. Be sure to print a few extra copies for unexpected guests and for souvenirs for the bride.

If you're short on time, or if you'd rather use a more generic bridal shower theme, try some of the great party puzzles at http://www.word-game-world.com/wedding-word-scramble.html. You'll find wedding word scrambles on several entertaining topics your guests are sure to enjoy. Don't miss the hilarious bridal shower mad lib game! Weekly Video Games Round-Up

We're just a couple of days away till Christmas and of course we'll give you a look at the latest game releases that you can buy yourself, or ask dear Santa this year. This week were going to give you an inside look at World of Goo, the Star Wars: The Old Republic update and give you a line-up on games that you could put on your Christmas list to make sure you don't get bored during this special time.

Review

World of Goo

World of Goo is the funniest and most interesting game I've played that revolves around Goo ever! It's a funny puzzle game where you have to guide Goo back into the sewage system. But there are different kinds of Goo to help you do this, for instance, Black Goo will be your basic Goo to connect to each other for creating towers and bridges, Green Goo is re-connectable unlike the black Goo, Red is exploding Goo and white Goo will create a connection that looks a little bit like snot! 2D Boy has certainly done a good job in creating a game that is not only really fun to play, but gamers are also able to obtain this game for a mere 10 bucks!

Not only is World of Goo a simple puzzle game with a hell of a lot funny sounds and amazing levels which will make you crack your brain, it also includes a small story line where ( by solving the many levels) you are helping the world become cleaner for everyone as you put all the Goo where it belongs.

World of Goo is a guarantee for fun and is worth about 4 hours of game time, however with all the achievements in each level you'll be playing it over and over and over again.

The game is available on PC, Wii and Ipad

Upcoming

Star Wars: The Old Republic

And at last, the moment will be there (somewhere in 2011) with the long expected Star Wars: The Old Republic Update. This update features many great things to improve the experience of gamplay for example:

-there will be two different Jedi classes of which to choose from. It's either the "knight" that focuses on fighting with the lightsaber, or the "consular that chooses to fight by using the Force.

The game also introduces a computer controlled player which you are able to command around to do many of the things that you don't want to do for example: crafting (in this case, using the artifice or biochem skills), gathering crafting materials (in this case, bioanalysis and slicing), and lower-level mission tasks.

-In addition to having a "slave" companion, Bioware also introduces a PVP area where Republic characters are able to fight against Empire characters on the planet of Alderaan. At this PVP area there is a defending team, which is trying to defend turrets from being destroyed and the attacking team which is seeking to destroy it for their galactic warship will be destroyed by the turrets.

Although the PVP areas are not available for players who just bought the game, over-time (when a higher level of experience is reached) they provide a fresh and exciting twist to the game's original storyline.

Having played some of the evil characters in the game already, I found it hard to get excited about the Jedi characters, because they are not equipped with jetpacks, nor able to shoot lightning bolts... However, for the good guys or real team players out there, these new Jedi classes will prove to come in handy during quests and certainly while doing fights together. The final game promises a lot: deep storyline, companions, PVP and much more which many Star Wars fans have been dying to see, though you have to wait a little longer for the game will come out SOMEWHERE in 2011.

What Is a Washers Board Game?

A washers board game is something that is very popular in some parts of the country, but something that many others have not seen or heard about. In fact, you may not have ever seen anyone playing this game in the movies or on television, but it is still popular around the world.

What Is a Washers Board Game?

This is a game that is very similar to other games such as corn hole toss. It is basically a toss game that you can take with you wherever you go. It is set up with two pieces of wood, usually 10 to 20 feet apart. The length will likely depend on the age of the people playing, with little children playing on a course that is much smaller.

Each of these two pieces of wood has three holes in it and each player has a handful of washers, the number of which depends on the exact style of play that you are utilizing. This is actually one of those kinds of games where every family or area of the country has their own way of playing and their own way of keeping score.

What Do You Do?

Much like with a corn hole toss game, you simply throw the washers, which are large metal rings, and hope that they land in one of the holes in the wood. It is much harder than it looks, but one of the joys of the game is that it is as difficult for athletic people as it is for those with not one athletic bone in their body. So the playing field is equal across the genders and all age groups.

Where Is This Played?

You can play this game on sand or grass, but you probably shouldn't play it on concrete if you are using the metal washers that are usually used with the game. The washers board game is one of those games that is often played at large picnics, family reunions, and Fourth of July parties because everyone can get involved.

You can also try a washers board game that is played indoors, so you will have a game to play on cold winter nights. The only significant different with this type of game is that the washers are lightweight and will not damage flooring or surrounding furniture.

Where Can You Get It?

Although you might think that this would be a pretty easy game to put together on your own, not a lot of people have the equipment on hand to make a washers board game. Therefore, buying one online is usually the best idea. You can find a variety of different styles, some of which are designed for indoor use and some of which are better for younger children. This will enable you to make sure that everyone has a way to play.

Whether you are looking for a new challenge for your children or a game to play at an upcoming party, a washers board game is an ideal choice.

Want an exciting and fun outdoor board game? Washers board games are easy to play and great for family get togethers or a backyard party!

Using a Video Game Wholesale Dropshipper

A video game wholesale dropshipper works nicely with the nature of video gaming on the whole. Most of the customers for video games actually prefer buying products online and certainly aren't averse to hunting around a bit for the best deal. This means that you won't necessarily lose customers who find a site other than yours first and that you have plenty of leeway in finding a way to entice them to purchase from you. The video game business is a competitive one, and you'll have to keep an eye on your competitors if you want to fare well in this market.

There are some events in the game world that always have major happenings. The release of new games is obviously among the most significant. People will literally wait outside game stores for days to get there copy of a new release first. You can take advantage of this in several different ways. If you have a video game wholesale dropshipper who gets new releases in advance, you can offer ordering at midnight the day of release. The novelty of getting a copy very quickly really never wears off, even if it's an expansion. Talk to your dropshipper about whether or not they offer this.

A video game wholesale dropshipper also allows you to advertise and sell as many different titles as they have available. There are literally thousands of video game titles on the market at any given time and it's very expensive to stock them all in an inventory. Most businesses, in fact, cannot afford to do this, unless they are quite large. Online stores almost always beat out storefront locations for selection, and you'll have to offer a lot of it to keep your edge in the market.

A game wholesale dropshipper will likely have some titles that are very affordable. These can be great ways to buff out the selection in your store, even if they don't sell well. Video game stores do best when they have very large amounts of titles from which to choose. If you have numerous categories, good navigation on your site or-if you're auctioning-good presence on the auction listings, you should be able to drive quite a bit of traffic to your more expensive games and keep your customers aware of upcoming releases they may want.

The Roots of Online Multiplayer Gaming

Recently, I was talking to some friends about an upcoming MMO release, and it dawned on me how far the online gaming industry has really progressed since its founding.

I remember playing free online games years ago, namely on a website called Bonus. I will never forget dialing up (respect for the old school 56k) on my parent's computer and checking it out. It was one of the most valuable of the hidden internet gems that populated the late 90s. This website offered a multitude of games geared particularly towards preteens. I distinctly remember some really cool, simple games that seem harder and harder to find in the modern age of MMORPGs and fast paced first person shooters. These games kept me occupied for hours after school. It was not until a couple years later that this free gaming phenomenon really took hold on the net.

One game that stands out above all of the others in my memory is Battlefield. Battlefield was an online tank game that was revolutionary for its day. Bonus got this one right, indirectly creating an industry that would later learn how to profit from free gaming in ways Bonus never imagined. Battlefield was unique because it was entirely user based. You competed directly in a massively multiplayer environment against others. The gameplay remained simple and at the same time cutting edge in the gaming era of the late 1990s. I continued to play this game into my late teens and early twenties, following the community that shared my feelings of sentiment towards it. Because the game was based purely on player interaction and competition, a community had formed and sustained the life of the game long after Bonus shut down its main website. When Bonus finally filed bankruptcy in 2008, the community it left behind persisted. Battlefield was the first of a long line of games that induced user loyalty by capitalizing, albeit in this case accidentally, on the social aspect of online interaction through gaming. Unfortunately, Bonus's failure to realize the value of social platforming was its biggest mistake.

Today, developer giants like Blizzard and Square Enix dominate the world of online multiplayer gaming with subscription based, rich content role playing games. These developers have capitalized on the craze, implementing subscription based services with multiple outlets for social interaction and competition. However, a new kind of game has begun to reemerge as an answer to big developer domination and subscription abuse. These games are free to play, implementing ad based and itemized revenue models to fuel growth and development, leaving little to no cost for the everyday user to cover. Despite this return to founding principles, it seems that the world of online multiplayer gaming has become entirely dominated by MMORPGs. What happened to fast action games like those developed by the former gaming website Bonus and other small startups that featured pure online multiplayer environments and action-packed anticipation and reaction? Are they forever lost to the folds of history, or is there another stage of revival in the world of online gaming that has yet to be realized?

Recently, a new game very similar to Bonus's Battlefield called uTanks was released. Through uTanks, modern internet gamers can experience a bit of the past, a retro flavor found nowhere else in the online gaming world. If you are interested in making a pilgrimage to the roots of online gaming, I encourage you to take a look at the uTanks homepage for yourself at http://www.utanks.com.

Text Adventure Games: Player/Character Distinction (Part 1)

It is a Saturday night. You are logged onto your favorite online text game, camped outside an enemy city as you wait for the battle to begin. The defenders are sitting just a room away, picking out some easy targets. You announce their names to your citymates, who promptly slaughter them. As you pat yourself on the back for a job well done, an instant message pops up. "WTF," the player behind your in-game husband sends, "That was my alt." A bucket of angst is then poured onto you in text format: "I can't believe you did that, you griefer. I thought our relationship meant something to you."

Despite your efforts to explain that your character has no relationship with the other player's second character and that you, the player, have no amorous feelings for the other player, he signs off in an explosion of rage. Well, you think, as you sit back in your chair, another painful example of someone with no IC/OOC distinction.

In any text-based roleplaying game, players often overlook the important concept of "playing a role" - keeping the character separate from themselves. This is called in-character/out-of-character (often shortened as IC/OOC) distinction. If the player of your character's husband had had a firm grasp of this, he would have understood that your in-game actions were perfectly justified.

Without IC/OOC distinction, it is easy to become too emotionally invested in a text game. Your goals, feelings and personalities begin to mesh with that of your character's until they are one and the same. This not only hinders your enjoyment of the game, but can make it even worse for everyone else who interacts with you and your character.

When you are your character (instead of simply playing him or her), obstacles and pitfalls that occur to your character in-game can cause you unreasonable emotional upset. A good roleplayer may view a negative event such as a divorce as an opportunity for character development and roleplay. However, someone who does not distinguish between character and self may take on the character's negative emotions - hurt and anger towards the other character or player.

As you become more and more attached to your text game character, you allow minor events to affect you more than they should. Combatants may become insanely sensitive as they start throwing fits and demanding administrative attention after every single attack, talking smack about everyone on the opposing team, or even throwing their computers out of the window upon losing a duel.

Even more dangerous, however, are the emotional attachments formed between the players of characters in a relationship. Characters may certainly harbor deep feelings for each other, but the danger lies in the possibility of those feelings being transferred to the player as well. In extreme cases, these often-unreciprocated feelings can spark irrational possessiveness, manipulation, and melodrama both in-game and in real life. Sometimes a player's emotional investment in the game can seriously damage his or her relationships in real life.

In-character and out-of-character distinction can clear these muddy waters. Your character's feelings should not be your own. When you start thinking of your character as a participant in a story instead of simply an extension of yourself, you can begin to enjoy the game from the outside. This distinction not only increases your enjoyment of the game, but that of others as well - who wants their leisure activities to be spoiled by unnecessary drama? When you know where your feelings stop and your character's feelings begin, a richer roleplay atmosphere is developed.

In the upcoming part two of this article, we'll discuss how you as a player can create IC/OOC distinction.

The Future of Mobile Game Development

Mobile Game Development (MGD)is a growing industry. Mobile games are not only being upgraded to offer a better gaming experience, but they also represent new emerging technologies. However, if you compare the growth with PC games or console games, it is clear that mobile game has still a long way to go. But if you are talking about the future of gaming industry, it is definitely mobile games.

When the future of MGD is concerned, there are some hottest trends in this genre. They are mentioned below:

Massive Multiplayer MGD
Advertising/Promoting via MG
Promoting Cinemas/Movies via MG
Advertising New Products via MG
3d Real World Scenario MG

Massive Multiplayer MGD: With the induction of global multiplayer systems, Online Massive Multiplayer MGD is highly appreciated by game lovers. The players can choose any opponent from any part of the world to play on his mobile device. Though this is a very new concept in the industry, but it will soon become a hit like PC games.

Interactive Server Games:All the interactive server games run on a GPRS connection to connect with a central server. Many game manufacturing companies are embracing this gaming trend to make new online games for the avid users. For example, Nokia'a SNAP technology supports interactive server games.

Advertising via Mobile Games (MG): MG have become a great tool for promoting concept or ideas, especially for consumer product based enterprises. Many advertising companies are now promoting their client's product through mobile games. It is a cost-effective method of promoting a brand.

Promoting movies through MG:There are many film makers and producers, who are promoting their upcoming movies through their mobile game versions. Popular example is Harry Potter. The movie was released earlier and the producer launched the game later to cash on the success of the movie. On the contrary, Prince of Persia game was released earlier and the movie was released later. The huge success of the game ensured success for the movie as well.

Advertising New Products through MG: Many product based companies are now trying their hand on mobile games for advertising their product. For example, if you are a pen manufacturing company, you can advertise of the product in the game, in which the players are seen to use the pen. Such advertisement has become very popular with MG.

3D Real World Scenario MG :MG have reached its next level with 3D real world scenario MG. On this gaming platform, you can see real world scenario of the games on your mobile phone. This development discards all limitations of resources.

Top Mobile Game of All Time: Angry Birds

Almost everyone who has a smartphone has probably heard of Angry Birds, so it is no surprise that this game is one of the most popular games available to date for any smartphone operating system including Android and iOS. So what is this game causing all the rage?

What is Angry Birds?

The game, developed by Rovio Mobile, is a puzzle style video game where players launch birds with a slingshot at evil green pigs or the structures that those pigs occupy. The structures on each level are made of materials such as ice, wood, and stone. The object of the Angry Birds game is for the player to eliminate all the pigs in each level by either hitting the structures using the slingshot to damage them, which causes them to collapse and kill the pigs.

In different levels of the game, special objects such as explosive crates and rocks are found, and may be used to help destroy pigs and structures. The game is broken up into several episodes, each containing multiple levels. The first episode is called "Poached Eggs," which begins the birds' quest to go after the pigs who stole their eggs. Rovio also released Halloween and Christmas themed editions of the Angry Birds game in 2010.

Game FAQs

The game was first released for Apple's iOS in December 2009, which made the game available for most iPhone, iPad and iPod users, and Rovio has said that they have sold more than 12 million copies, with the majority of downloads attributed to the iPhone app. This success has led the company to design versions for other smartphones such as those using the Symbian or Android operating systems.

The Android version is free and relies on advertising based revenue. In its first 24 hours of availability, the Android version was downloaded 1 million times, causing the server to crash at one point. The company has seen over 30 million downloads from its free app versions, including "lite" versions for other systems. Versions of Angry Birds have now been released for both PCs and gaming consoles as well and is expected to be just as popular as the iPhone app.

Why so Popular?

The combination of low price with its addictive game play and humorous tone has led the Angry Birds iPhone game to be downloaded over 50 million times in total across all systems. According to recent statistics, Angry Birds sees over 200 million gaming minutes per day!

For a game that cost approximately $140,000 to develop initially, it now earns over $2 million per month with half from sales and half from advertising. The game has also received positive reviews and Conan O'Brien has even mentioned Angry Birds on his late night television show. The overwhelming popularity has led to cross merchandising, which has included t-shirts, plush toys of the birds and the pigs, as well as an upcoming board game version.

In March 2011, Angry Birds Rio, will tie in with the release of the 20th Century Fox animated movie "Rio," which is scheduled to be available for iOS and Android. The Angry Birds characters will appear in Rio de Janeiro and attempt to rescue other birds, including those from the film. There has also been some talk of an animated feature film for the birds themselves, but such a movie will be further off in the future.

Video Games That Are Popular Among Kids

There are a ton of great new video games that can be purchased during the upcoming holiday season. If you're not sure what to purchase your child for Christmas, or any time for that matter, then there are some types that you might want to have a look at.

First Person Shooter Games

One of the more popular video games in the market today for all types of gaming systems is first person shooter games. They are popular because they depict real life actions, and the player has the opportunity of seeing the action and carrying out actions through the character of their choice. Players get to play the leading role in the game.

A lot of different types of first person shooter games exist. There are old war games, new or modern war games, sci-fi, and plenty more that your child will absolutely love. If your child has a fascination with World War II type stuff, then they'll definitely enjoy playing World War II first person shooter games as well as many others that are WWII related.

Sports Video Games

Sports video games are also very popular this year and are a great gift that can be given to the child gamer in your family. Some of the popular types of sports video games are basketball, hockey, football, soccer, baseball, and many more. If your child loves sports, then he'll love playing any of the many different sports related games.

You can see how sports games are so popular. This is mostly due to the fact that children love to play sports themselves because of the thrill of the competition. They can get that same feeling when they play the different versions of those sports.

Simulation

One other popular type of video game is simulation games, which are exactly what they sound like. They are games that allow you to simulate a real life experience. These types of games are commonly built around the many different types of vehicles that we simply don't get a chance to drive every day. Many of those vehicles include airplanes, trains, tanks, helicopters, and many more.

A couple other popular types of video games include motorcycle games and ATV games.

With Free Full PC Games, Everyone Wins

A huge number of Free Full PC Games are currently available for download online at no cost. With the rise of large scale online computer gaming, as well as the proliferation of affordable high-speed internet connections, an increasing number of videogame designers are offering entire games to customers absolutely free. Many of these companies will use this method to promote an upcoming videogame release or use it as a gateway for later earnings. Free games are quickly redefining the face of the pc gaming industry.

Naturally, a videogame on any platform - be it home console games or pc games needs to make a profit. Videogames are expensive to design and produce, so any company that creates them has to have a strategy to make money or they will eventually go out of business. It seems contrary to this idea to release a full game at no cost to the customer, but it is actually a remarkable strategy. If the design company produces high quality products, they will often offer an entire finished product for free to introduce themselves to the public. Usually this game is a smaller production the corporation creates a few months prior to a larger release. Once consumers see the quality that the company is capable of, then they are more likely to purchase the later release.

One of the other methods that videogame companies use to make money is to charge for content that appears during play. This is particularly popular with the online multiplayer games. Everyone is allowed to play at no cost, but to unlock various different parts; the individual must spend actual money. In the same way that a full game release can introduce consumers to the design company, when people are allowed to actually play the game, then they are introduced to all the possibilities the game has to offer. This entices them to purchase the complementary additions.

Free full pc games are good for both the customer as well as the production companies. Customers can play their product in its finished form and decide if they like it before they pay anything. This, in turn, forces the gaming companies to produce games that are appealing to gamers. It is the free market at its best, where strong manufacturers thrive and the gamers that play them are provided with hours of free entertainment. It is truly a winning situation for both.

Various Types of Online Casino Games

Literally the word Casino means - a small house or villa for summer season, which is built on a larger ground. Later the word referred to public facilities where gambling would take place. The word online casino can be not very well to others but I can say that online casino is real fun.

The credit of initiating the casino game in United States goes to Mr. Benjamin Bugsy Siegal. He started a Casino in Las Vegas in the late 1940's. Binion Horseshoe, Stupak and Benny also added their contribution to the Bugsy era and started to build Las Vegas as it is today. Online casino is very important to the gambler. They can't put themselves away from online casino. I also became a fan of online casino when I saw it.

The Casino games can be categorized in three types -

Games played on tables
Gaming machines in electronic
A rough number game

The online casino games are of types. The first type uses web based interfaces whereas the second type uses downloadable interfaces only. In web based interfaces the players can play the online casino games directly in the local computer system, without downloading any additional software. In the second type software has to be essentially downloaded. Online casino will give you money and fun. But don't think as this is online casino so you or they can cheat. It's not possible.

Almost all the online websites offer initial bonus for first sign-up deposit and subsequent bonuses for regular sign-ups.

The various types of online casino games are

Black Jack - it is French card game. The player has to take the cards total close to '21' well before the dealer. First web casino, Pontoon and European Black Jack are moderately slighter variations to the original one. The casino games are real a fun maker.

Slots - the principle of working is based upon the olden day's mechanical slotting machine. The player has to pull the handle of the machine to make the drum roll and try his luck. The original Slot machines were introduced in the early 1890, in San Francisco.

Keno - this is a game of lottery. The player has to guess the series of numbers that is to appear on the screen and check for the matches

Poker slots - this game is a mixture of both video poker and poker slots. Poker is originated from Persia. I personally enjoy the casino games a lot.

Roulette - this is merely a game of luck. The ancient Roulette wheel was invented by a mathematician in France. In this game the player assumes a number for him. Now the marble is rolled over and the playing social has to check if both the same.

Video Slots - this is a sequence of scenes appearing in the computer monitor allowing the player to make bet on the upcoming slots.

Baccarat - the player can choose to bet as either tie or banker or player. It is popularly known as the non-violent game of cards which was popularly spread all throughout Europe.

Craps - this game is a type of dice game, where the player can choose either of the roll. In olden days animal bones were used to make dices. Now you can play those games on casinos online.

Pachinko - this is a Japanese based gaming machine. The model reminds us of the pinball. Here the player releases the ball, simultaneously controlling the speed of the ball and making it land safely amid the no. of pins in.

It will be a nice idea for you if you want to try online casino games.

History & Marketing of the Nintendo Wii Gaming Console System

The Wii video game console released by Nintendo. As a seventh-generation console, the Wii primarily was to go against Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Sony's PlayStation 3. Nintendo states that its console targets a bigger range of people. As of December 31, 2008 the Wii sales overshot both the play station 3 and Xbox 360.

A great feature of the console is WiiConnect24, which enables it to receive messages and updates over the Internet.

The Wii is Nintendo's fifth console, it able to play all official Game Cube games. Nintendo first spoke of the console at E3 2004 and later unveiled the system at E3 2005.

The console was first known as "Revolution" until April 27, 2006, the Nintendo Style Guide refers to the console as "simply Wii, not Nintendo Wii", and making it the first home console Nintendo has marketed outside of Japan without the company name in its trademark. While "Wiis" is a commonly used as the name of the console, Nintendo has stated that the official way of saying it would be "Wii systems" or "Wii consoles. Since its launch, sales of the console have been higher than Xbox 360 and ps3. According to the NPD Group, the Wii sold more units in the United States than the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 combined in the first half of 2007. The sales are even larger in the Japanese market, Japan currently the highest sales. In Australia, the Wii blew away the record sells of Xbox 360 to make it the fastest selling games console in Australian history. Nintendo hopes to target a bigger range with console than that of others in the seventh generation. At a press talks for the upcoming Nintendo DS game Dragon Quest IX Satoru Iwata stated "We're not thinking about going into a battle with Sony, but about how many people we can get to play games. The thing we're thinking about most is not portable systems, consoles but rather how we can attract new people to play games."

This was shown in Nintendo's series of television ads in North America, as well as Internet ads. The ad wording is "Wii would like to play" and "Experience a new way to play." These ads ran starting November 15, 2006 and cost over $200 million. The marketing has proved to be successful. People as old as 103 have been reported to be playing the Wii. The real beauty of the Wii is how simple it is to play. All the games are easy to use and allow people of all ages to play. This was another marketing tactic that really worked out well. Trying to make people that don't game into gamers. To build a stronger market long term so that when they have more games or another system people will still have memories and link that to their next system purchase. The Wii also has games for the more hardcore gamers. Nintendo understands that people are not concerned about graphics or power but rather gameplay. People just want to play games that are fun. That is why people play games. Getting to technical only takes away from the true point of gaming which is entrainment. The original Nintendo for example had simple games and such has a huge following. Nintendo on eBay can go up to 100 dollars easily. Showing the demand and proving that it is never about graphics but rather about the entrainment value. I own a ps3 and never play it because the games are not enjoyable to me. I can player older games and have a lot more fun. If that is a case then clearly Nintendo has the right idea of what consumers' demands and interests lay.

Plinko - An Interactive Game to Spice Up Your Meetings

Upcoming on your schedule is another boring office meeting or another uneventful sales meeting that everyone is dreading. It does not have to be that way! Take a new approach to creating fun and excitement at boring business meetings by introducing an interactive game. Plinko is an action packed game, which has all sorts of twists, turns and fun for everyone. This game can be used at traditional events such as trade shows, employee appreciation days, annual meetings, sales meetings or anywhere you have a gathering of people. Plinko involves a combination of guessing and luck and will help create an atmosphere of interest and connectivity. Everyone enjoys a good game. Plinko is the event game that will take your boring, traditional meeting to a whole new level of fun.

About the Game

Plinko is a prize game where each player is given one round flat disc known as a Plinko puck. The Plinko board consists of symmetrically positioned pegs. The player then goes to the top of the Plinko board and drops the Plinko puck into a slot between pegs in the board. And, the Plinko puck bounces, twists and changes direction as it as it moves down the matrix of pegs. Since it will not be falling straight down, it will eventually fall to the bottom of the peg matrix and land randomly on a customized prize. The player wins the prize that corresponds to the prize where the Plinko puck lands.

Features

Plinko has evolved so much that there are now different versions and variations. Unique Plinko boards are made of Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) plastic with a powder coated steel frame. This makes the Plinko board flexible, yet strong and durable. The large Plinko game weighs about 12.5 with generous dimensions of 32" width, 50.5" height and 23" depth. The large Plinko game is used in locations where many people will be present and the gaming fun must be seen from relatively far distances. However, a mini Plinko version is available for more intimate gatherings or for use on a table top, but still offers the same interactivity and fun. The Plinko boards are available in white or black. Each Plinko game comes with 3 opposite colored Plinko pucks, black or white.

Advantages

The advantages of Plinko game are evident from its popularity among all types of people across many decades of the game's existence. A huge feature for corporate environment meetings is the Plinko does not require assembly and detailed set-up. It can be shipped directly to your event location, and be opened and used within minutes. The large Plinko offers a generous surface for game visibility but does not take up a large area within your location. The best part of the Plinko game is the ability to customize the prizes. As an event coordinator, you can create awesome prize giveaways in the form of cash, gift cards, or physical items by using the custom prize templates. The Plinko prize templates are easy to use in Microsoft Office(R) Word, Adobe Acrobat (R) or Adobe Illustrator (R) file formats. And, the templates are free! All you need is creativity to include applicable prizes and branding exposure for your unique group gathering.

For the event coordinator who is constantly on the go or has multiple events during a calendar year, the large Plinko tote has a protective travel case for the Plinko game. It is made of strong canvas and has been uniquely designed to snuggly fit the large Plinko board. In addition, the Plinko tote includes an adjustable strap and side pocket for Plinko puck storage. The Plinko tote is must for travelers using the Plinko game.

Chess - The Ultimate Game of the Mind

Introduction

Chess is a fascinating game of the mind played between two players. Chess is a strategy board game that has been played for hundreds of years. Chess is generally believed to be created in India during the Gupta Empire around the 6th century. The pieces used in the game represented the four divisions of their military which were the infantry, cavalry, elephants, and chariotry. Today those same for divisions have evolved into the modern pawn, knight, bishop, and rook. The game of chess is so intense and competitive, that it is recognized as a sport by the International Olympic Committee. I know from my experience playing chess that it is fairly easy to learn but it take years to master. I have a chess tutorial that I use when I want to brush up on my skills.

The basics of chess

Chess is not as bad to learn as many make it out to be but can be somewhat complicated because each piece can be moved differently. Chess is played on a square board of eight rows and eight columns. The eight rows are rows called ranks and are referred to with numbers 1 to 8. The eight columns are called files and are referred to with letters a to h. The players are referred to as "White" and "Black" and they each begin the game with 16 pieces. Each player starts the game with 2 bishops, 1 king, 2 knights, 8 pawn, 1 queen, and 2 rooks. (Once the board is properly setup this is where things go wrong for me and I pull out my chess tutorial).

To begin play, pieces are moved to an unoccupied square, or one occupied by an opponent's piece. If you move you piece on your opponents occupied piece you have captured it is removed from the board. When a king is under direct attack by one or two of the opponent's pieces, it is said to be in check and the game can end. A game of chess is usually divided into three parts: the opening which is around the first 10 to 25 moves, (this is when players move their pieces into positions for the upcoming battle); the middle-game, which is said to be the most exciting part of the game; and the endgame, (at this point most of the pieces are gone) when kings usually take a more active part in the struggle.

Chess games do not always end when a king is in check because either player may resign at anytime if they feel they can not win. When it comes time to moving a chess piece, use this basic hint, count the total value of pieces of both sides. Then modify those moves by factors to accommodate for position of the piece (to explain, advanced pawns are usually more valuable than those on their initial squares), the coordination between the pieces (for example, a pair of bishops usually coordinates better than the pair of a bishop and knight), and the type of position (knights are usually better in closed positions with many pawns while bishops are more dominant in open positions).

Chess on the Internet

Internet chess has been popularized by many websites because it allows people to play against the computer, which really provides a challenge. Online chess also improves the game by making a world wide community of chess players accessible for play, despite their geographic location or time zone. People ask me all the time if they can get the chess tutorial I use so they can try and beat a relative in a different state. With so many websites hosting chess games, a person should have no problem finding an online chess game or tournament to participate in.

Conclusion

Today, chess is one of the world's most popular games, played by millions of people worldwide at home, in clubs, online, and in tournaments. In some cases a chess game can go on for days or even weeks without end. Chess is a game that truly enables one to see and predict the consequences of their actions. A good chess strategy can be the difference in winning or losing the game. If one does not really know the mechanics of the game it would not be a bad thing to get purchase a chess tutorial. One of the funniest analogies I've heard refers to chess as a "beautiful mistress to whom we keep coming back, no matter how many times she rejects us."

I just happen to love chess and wanted to write a quick article about it. Enjoy!

Video Game Tester Jobs - What is There Available?

If you're interested in getting a job as a video game tester, then I will describe to you the different opportunities you have available. If you interested in the different types of jobs you can explore, pay close attention.

When it comes to video game tester jobs, they can be split up into two basic categories -- paid testing jobs and unpaid testing jobs. Why would anybody want to take an unpaid job? Well, there are actually several reasons. First, it is an excellent way for a gamer to get his hands on a free copy of an upcoming video game. Second, it is a great way for a gamer to prove himself as one, which can lead to actual paying gigs in the future. Third, it helps to develop valuable connections in the gaming industry.

The video game tester job that is most appealing, obviously, is the one that results in a fat paycheck. Traditionally, these jobs allow you to work from the comfort of your own home and at your own pace. Testers are sent video games through the mail, and attached to each game is a "bug/glitch report" form which is used by the game tester to detail the glitches he has found. The overall goal is to basically explore all the levels in the game while looking for different glitches and bugs that are causing problems; whether they be big or small. In addition to that, they are required to give general feedback on the game itself. This is to help the video game developers improve upon the beta version and get the video game up to the standard "playability level" accepted by most gamers.

As a video game tester, you can either work full-time or part-time; it really just depends on how many jobs you're up for. Whether this is something you want to do on the side to supplement your income or something you wish to make a career out of, there are various "testing options" to choose from. These options include different gaming platforms and encompass all different genres of the video game industry. In layman's terms; you can choose what system you want to test on and what types of games you primary want to get paid to test (usually).

No matter what type of video game tester job you decide upon, you must be willing to devote most of your time to the completion of testing assignments. This doesn't mean just playing a video game and telling the developer "yeah, I saw a few bugs here and there"; it means you have to explain, in detail, how you came across a bug and what it effects it has on the player or the environment. To put it in perspective for you: you're being paid to professional test video games, not to simply play them and have a good time.

The Evolution of Gaming

From Warcraft to Final Fantasy to the upcoming Warhammer Online, games are slowly evolving from play/win mode to play/play mode, where the game never ends and the fun is in the social aspects and the process you use to better yourself. These Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games, or MMORPGs, are prime examples of gaming and social life combining to create the most popular pseudo-universes in the world.

WoW

World of Warcraft is the old example. While there are goals and levels, the game technically never ends. People from countries all over the planet play the World of Warcraft regularly, playing the game on a daily basis and completing quests and socializing with others. But World of Warcraft was based on an older game, "Warcraft" that already had its own computer presence.

Warhammer Online

Today, even non-computer games are turning to MMORPG platforms. Warhammer Online, scheduled to be released in September of 2008, is based on an offline, computer-less game known as Warhammer, that takes place with dice, miniature sculptures/characters, and a tabletop. That game was incredibly popular throughout the world, featuring over 8 different editions, hundreds of characters and rules, and a complexity that made the table top become its own world. But table tops have limitations. You cannot create new rules or quests on the fly. You cannot choose where to go at your leisure and most of all you cannot socialize. The game was designed for people that enjoyed playing competitive games alone with strict guidelines. Warhammer Online allows them to change that. By taking Warhammer online, the company can turn the universe into something far more dynamic. They can come up with quests that require teams or goals that take weeks to accomplish. They can make the game as complex or simple as they want and negate all of the limitations of the table top.

Most importantly, Warhammer Online has the ability to be a new universe that every day people can enjoy regularly, without requiring another player is around to compete with and without requiring every "piece" be properly located on the table. Warhammer Online is the next in a series of games that plan on taking advantage of the MMORPG craze. Assuming Warhammer Online achieves the same success as World of Warcraft, assume that many other offline games are likely to go the same route in the future. Warhammer Online is taking the first step towards the future of all games. One can only wonder where it will lead in the future.

Stephen Fredricks is an MMO expert and the author of five different guides for games such as World of Warcraft. His newest guide, a comprehensive guide for Warhammer Online will be released in just a few short weeks at TheWarhammerGuide.com.

Nintendo 3DS Games

Nintendo 3DS is a brand new way of gaming for this generation of gamers. You do not have to wear glasses to experience the special effects in this gaming device. It is surely a revolutionary machine, which will alter the way we play games. Nintendo 3DS has a very cool backwards compatibility feature and more horsepower. The processing power of the 3D component in the upcoming Nintendo 3DS handheld device can be used efficiently for making better-looking games. Nintendo 3DS handheld device is slick and stylish. The players will have a third dimension to this game but they can also enjoy the standard 2D format.

DJ Hero 3D:

The physical turntable peripheral in this game is brought to a handheld portable device and you do not have to pay anything extra for the special attachments. It does not have GBA cart slot and even if it does there is no way to attach it to the latest handheld device from Nintendo. Note tracking becomes easier with the 3D effect and you can focus on the closer planes. The background fades and blurs effectively into nothing. Controls are handled with stylus and like the console version the notes flow down the track. The color-coded arrows will tell you whether to flick right or left. When you find long stretches of some colors you have to scrub your stylus and when you find circles you should tap. It is very satisfying and simple game.

Steel Diver:

The Steel Diver submarine warfare game was long expected in Nintendo DS, but launched in Nintendo 3DS. It has been reworked for the 3DS version. Shigeru Miyamoto says that this title is almost done and the 3DS version is expected soon.

Kingdom Hearts:

The kingdom hearts video demo starts with Sora sitting on a branch by the edge of ocean water. It continues with various familiar locations, which is inter-spliced with the shots of some characters from the game. The trailer shows the 3D port of Kingdom Hearts rather than a new 3DS title. The graphics in 3DS is very nice but the 3D effect looks very weak.

Paper Mario:

It has new features like chain chomp companion and peel-off badges for Mario. Otherwise, it looks like GameCube and N64 games. The 3D effects in this game are completely binary and it does not matter whether the 3D slider is on or off, there is no variance in the 3D effects.

Mario Kart:

This Mario Kart game comes with 3D graphics. It is not as good as the Wii version and visually it is underwhelming. The 3D effects will pop up when the players overlap but still it is an exciting game.

Tangled:

Nintendo's 3DS top screen shows the trailer of Rapunzel animated movie from Disney. It looks exactly like the theatrical version of the animated movie trailer, but it a lot smaller. There is nothing Earth-shattering in this game. If this device is capable of playing full 3D movies, it will be much more interesting.

No Video Games - Think Again!

One day, a 9 year old boy was forced by his mom to stop playing video games. They had argued for a moment. Mom said that computer games definitely will not do any good and it's all about mindless violence. Mom fears that her son's life will be distracted by the fact that the boy would spend most of his time in front of the screen, without having any time to interact with outside world and learn about something useful. The boy could only shut his mouth, glancing to his screen and wonder when his mom will stop talking.

The occasion described above is happen commonly even in our family. Parents tend to limit their child gaming time as much as they can. In their mind, there will be no knowledge could be learned from video games except violence, brutality, sex, guns, and all the bad things. Yet, most of the children are powerless toward their parent. In most of the occasion, children will take a lose side in that battle, they simply obey what mom order and stop playing, even though in their heart the desire to continue playing is agonizingly high.

If we try to looking from outside the box - and keep the myth that parents are always right aside - we will see that despite all the moaning about goggled eyes and mindless violence, video games are a good thing that have been integrated to family life. In addition, its popularity is increase rapidly faster than any other form of entertainment. So who's right in this endless debate? Children or parents?

Steven Johnson, author of the book Everything Bad is Good For You, has said that what could be matters from video game is their form, and not their content. Parents often miss the fact that through his interaction to digital world, children will be more aware to the world. They will learn to explore the world and even be more curious toward it. Let's forget the fact that children might learn to drive car carelessly, they actually will learn about economic from The Sims, learn about strategy from Command Conquer, and learn about team work and strong coordination when they play Counter Strike in multiplayer mode. Even in such game like Flight or Train Simulator, children will learn how to fly a Boeing, Airbus, or about signal traffic systems use in real railroad technology. Furthermore, research by scientist from Oxford University has claimed that playing the video game "Tetris" after a major shock could reduce the symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder, although there's still a lot to be done to translate this experimental science result into a potential treatment.

Currently, the staggering success of Nintendo Wii has brought a new paradigm of playing video game: Brain Training for your mind, sight training for your eyes, and physical training for your body. We can play golf as Tiger Woods did, play tennis with Roger Federer in your own living room; even learn to stop smoking by following Allen Carr's method. With the help of mainstream, games now move into far more social stage, not only play online but now friends gathering in living rooms to dance, sing karaoke, play quizzes or pretend to be in rock bands.

Unfortunately, the story is not end there. Games are still have some drawbacks and could cost people physically. The stiffened joints and gnarled fingers that result from an overly lengthy session with a joypad, or the muscular strains that plague enthusiastic users of the Wii are some of the counterbalance that follow the mental benefits generated by video games. That's why, a self and time control while playing games is highly necessary. The most important thing is to relax during gaming, since most of people tend to be carried away when playing games. They get frustrated when lose and become addicted when win. Remember, games are just tools for entertainment; they have nothing to do with your pride and your real life. Becoming a smart gamer is really an option.

In the upcoming future, as the world become more uncertainty and economic recession continues, people will be keener than ever to escape into other world-such as video game. There's nothing wrong about it, but once again, a self control is needed so that we will not become an addicted gamer that only think about his game instead of his real life. By the time goes on, no answer will be satisfying enough to answer our question in the beginning. Who's right? Children or Parents? The easiest way to answer is: both sides are right, and both should use their arguments to control each other.

Game Developers - Artists Of The 21st Century

In every aspect of society artistic talent seems to have its place, and as we have seen gaming take off to to its true potential online over the past 10 years one thing is certain. Code Is Art. With powerful software being available to developers and freelance developers building on manual code programing alone the result is the games that we play.

Its important to take note of the detail that goes into game development these days, most gamers simply charge through a area and progress to their next objective without taking note of the many objects and design of the level they just played, However when you sit back and really look around you in the games as you play them, it becomes clearly apparent of the work that went into creating it.

From the simplest placement of a cup, to the elaborate model design of end game bosses game developers are truly to be commended for their imagination and their ability that has brought us digital art with the power of technology.

As Personal Computers become more accessible to homes gaming is certainly on the rise, and with quality hardware now being available to game developers and publishers offering more funding with every successful title, games are starting to show us the graphics we could have only though of in our wildest dreams.

This is truly amazing to witness because when you take a look at the graphics that we have these days, combined with the game play we are certainly on the verge of seeing some of the most breath taking games of all time. Titles such as oblivion shook the world in the past, and these graphics have been surpassed by upcoming titles such as crysis, When this is the best of the best, gamers should be on the edge of their seat in anticipation for the next wave of games.

Down to the literature side of art, the plot lines for games themselves are outdoing themselves nearly every time with artistic writers being able to contribute their fiction to game developing teams and create imersive story's and worlds.

We see developers, musicians, artists and more , all forms of artists coming together to create these digital masterpieces and it is only going to get better with every game that is released. As more focus has been put on computer component development , game developers are no longer restricted by their hardware as it seems with such a push we see some new & revolutionary tech available for purchase every 6 months.

Next time you find yourself playing your favorite game, take a look around you and take note of all the aspects that went into developing that level, and marvel in the beauty of digital artwork.

Are There Medical Benefits to Video Games?

Video games have always been given a modest nod of tolerance by parents who struggle to see the benefits of learning how to crash a car into a tree at 120 miles per hour. But new evidence is proving that video games have a new respect in the medical field. And if you suffer from chronic pain, you soon may be knocking on your children's door asking, "can you show me how that controller-thingy works?"

One of the best benefits is that there are now video games like Dance Dance Revolution that can help you get physically fit. If you've been to a movie theater or mall lately, you may have noticed the 3-foot square platform with an arrow on each side of the square pointing up, down, left and right. The player may appear as though they have joined the toddlers in a dance along with The Wiggles, but the game does take skill. The player faces a video screen that has arrows scrolling upward to the beat of a song, and the player steps on the correlating arrow. Tempted to try it but not in a public place? The home version costs about $80 for the game and plastic dance pad and it includes a "workout mode" that actually will track how many calories you are burning.

Another study has just been released about the ability for video games to actually reduce chronic pain. A group of students from Wheeling Jesuit University reported from their study that playing sports and fighting video games produces a dramatic level of pain distraction. The students presented the results of the study, "Effects of Video Game Play Types on Pain Threshold and Tolerance," during the University's Seventh Annual Student Research and Scholarship Symposium, April 4, 2006. The study examined 6 genre types (action, puzzle, arcade, fighting, sport, and boxing).

Sports games and fighting games were able to "produce a dramatic level of pain distraction." Some are suggestion that physicians install more video game consoles in their waiting rooms to lower the tension of upcoming surgical procedures. That seems fair, since many surgeons are now requesting Ipod players in their surgical rooms.

The video game may not help just the patient either! If you must have surgery, you should be glad to hear that your doctor actually spends some down time playing video games. Surgeons who play video games three hours a week have 27 percent fewer errors and accomplish tasks 27 percent faster, claims Dr. James Rosser Jr., a top surgeon and director of the Advanced Medical Technologies Institute at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York.

Rosser and his colleagues recently brought together surgeons, movie makers, and video game designers to discuss ways that better tools to train physicians can be developed. Players are hooked up with heart-rate and skin-conduction monitors on their fingers and they must calm their body and mind to make the game respond.

All good news, but don't be surprised if your teenagers here about this news soon too. When they ask for the next PlayStation sports game and you say no, he may just respond with, "but it's good for my health and I may even be training to be a surgeon!"

StarCraft 2 - The Most Awaited Game

The StarCraft video game has proved to be one of the most popular video games to ever be conceived in the world. The game has proven to be successful in both PC and MAC versions. Till date as many as nine million copies of this game has been sold to players around the world. The success of this video game has prompted the parent company Blizzard Entertainment to plan StarCraft 2.

StarCraft 2 is an upcoming trilogy of real-time strategy video games set in a military science fiction scenario. The game is currently being developed by Blizzard Entertainment. It will be a sequel to the highly acclaimed video game StarCraft released in 1998.

A crucial announcement was made earlier this year that StarCraft 2 will be shipped as a game with two complete follow up expansions. They have been provided with provisional titles such as Wings of Liberty, Heart of the Swarm and Legacy of the Void for the Terran, Zerg and Protoss factions respectively. The aim to provide the expansion is to give the players the feeling of a "full" game. Despite this announcement, no official release date has been announced by Blizzard. The only thing known about StarCraft 2 as of know is that it will be released simultaneously on three platforms, that are, Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Mac OS X, respectively. The tentative date of release is said to be sometime in 2009.

The designer and artist behind the game are Dustin Browder and Samwise Didier respectively. The StarCraft 2 game will feature both single player as well as multiplayer playing options. The game will be provided on DVD media. To play it on a PC or Mac the players will have to use a keyboard and a mouse.

The fact is despite minimal knowledge about the game; StarCraft 2 is arguably the most anticipated video game to arrive in 2009.

Bridal Shower Question and Answer Games

Bridal showers can be a lot of fun, and one of the expected activities is always games where either the bride or the guests answer questions related to the upcoming nuptials. The challenge is to find shower games that haven't been done to death at previous showers your guests have attended. This is a problem that can be easily remedied now we're in the computer age, because you will find dozens of websites that offer you game sheets you can just print off in order to supply your party with distinctive and entertaining games or directions for simple-but-fun games.

You can find sites which offer numerous paper games to challenge your guests, such as the "Famous Couples Matching Game" and the "Bridal Shower Purse Game" in which teams of guests search their purses for various objects in order to score points. The purse game promotes real togetherness and helps guests who may not know a lot of the others who are present break the ice. You might also try Bridal Shower Bingo as well as a rousing game of "Does the Bride Know the Groom?" Games like these are designed to make sure that everyone has a good time.

Another website that offers great game ideas for bridal showers is purpletrail.com. Although it doesn't offer the cute print-outs you'll find on the other site,  it does have some fun game suggestions. For example, this site suggests that you list the alphabet on a sheet of paper, add a little wedding clip art, and ask your guests to write marriage-related words for each letter. Another cute idea is "Advice for the Bride and Groom". Type the letters BRIDE & GROOM down the side of a sheet of paper along with lines next to each letter which will serve as the questions. Guests are then requested to come up with marital advice for the happy couple to correspond with each beginning letter. The results of games like these can be hilarious.

You can find many other websites that offer free games to spice up your bridal shower without causing you a lot of extra work. After all, you have a few other details you need to concentrate on in order to throw a shower you can be proud of, so why waste your time on the games when there's no need to do so?
