o Skype - finally, making free long distance calls are no longer limited to your desktop. You can now be free of your PC and mic and make free calls in any location that has WiFi!

o Aurora Feint - Aurora Feint is another innovative game, combining elements from puzzle games and role playing games.

Be wise with your app purchases. If there is a free edition of a certain app, it is wise to try it out first before going into the purchased edition. By doing this, you will gauge how helpful, necessary or fun a particular iPhone app is. It is true that most apps cost only $0.99, but if you download too many useless apps and purchase them on a whim, your cost will accumulate from purchasing cell phone apps alone. Another option is to consider unlimited cell phone downloads.

The Thrill of the Game

Every gamer knows the feeling: the thrill of the game. You want to win; you want to complete the level. You want to get better. Gaming is for a lot of people a daily activity. According to 'Today's Gamers Survey 2009' 83% between 8 year and 50+ play games with an average of 10.5 hours a week.

The gaming world provides us thousands and thousands of games on different platforms. One upcoming genre is: casino games. 10% of the gamers play casino games according to new figures of 'Today's Gamers Survey 2010'. Online casino operators noted also a growth last year.

Casino games have the same gaming aspects like other games. You want to win; you want to get better. But these games have something else to: the gambling aspect. Gambling is something of ancient times. The gambling aspect involves luck, skills and money. An extra thrill of the game.

Think about the online casino game Roulette. It is attended with a lot of excitement. You wager at a (couple of) numbers, a color, odd or even. And then the thrilling minutes that the ball goes round and round. Will it hit your lucky spot?! When it does, you feel unconquerable. Yihaa.

More platforms are offering casino games. The PC casino game is popular according to Today's Gamers, 12% of the people play them. On the PC the online casinos have a good quality in graphics and sounds. Some games have a live version of Online Blackjack, Roulette, Slots games and Baccarat. These games have a live dealer or croupier and the possibility to chat with them and other players. Live online casinos have a better experience. The live aspect makes the game more thrilling, because it feels more real than a computer version.

Another upcoming platform is the mobile phone. Blackberry and iPhone are most often used for gaming. When we look at casino games also 12% of the people plays them on their mobile phone. It's upcoming because more people have an Internet connection on their mobile phone, so they can gamble anywhere and whenever they want. Imagine playing a good game of blackjack while waiting for your dentist appointment. If you win in the couple of minutes that you're playing, the dentist needs sunglasses for your big smile!

Winning, the thrill of every game.

Becoming Your Own Video Game Tester

Some of you may be wondering what I'm referring to when I talk about being your own video game tester. Although there are video game jobs that have you play and test games and be paid for it, this actually has nothing to do with that. Before I go any further though, let's get one thing straight - Video games aren't exactly the most affordable form of entertainment. If any of you visit game forums or blogs, you may have come across someone talking about how they're saving their money, or set some money aside, so that they can purchase an upcoming new game console or a particular software title that they've been looking forward too.

I think it's safe to say that in many ways, purchasing something video game related can also be quite an investment. It can be a real pain having saved up all that money only to find out that the game you just purchased simply didn't live up to your expectations. It's something no gamer looks forward too. Personally speaking, this has happened to me many times. In many ways, it can be a really exciting time - You're looking forward to a particular software title that has you really excited and ready to play. On the flip side of the coin, the end result can be a very daunting experience - that title you were so anxiously waiting for not only didn't live up to your expectations, but let's face it, just plain sucked. What a waste of your time and money!

Unfortunately, there's not much you can do to help take back the time you've invested in being excited about a software title. On the other hand, their are ways to help cut back on the cost before you purchase the game at full price, brand-new. One of those ways is too actually rent the software title you're interested in before you buy it. It's seems obvious, but it actually surprises me at how many people I personally don't see doing this, especially if they're not sure whether they really like the game or not. This is the time where you actually become your own "video game tester." Essentially, you want to test out the game and get a feel for it - by doing this, you can better evaluate whether the game is for you or not. If it is, then you go through with the full purchase. If not, then you just saved yourself some money and the satisfaction of knowing you didn't just blow it on a title you didn't like.

In some cases, you may actually beat the whole game during your rental - in that case, you owe yourself a pat on the back as now you beat the title and saved yourself some cash at the same time. On the other hand, some people may find that even after renting and beating their game, the replay value is so high that they go ahead and purchase it at full price anyway. So again, it's all a matter of course. Save yourself the hassle of being disappointed in a purchase you thought was going to live up to your expectations, and rent before you buy. There are many benefits to renting a video game and it shouldn't be overlooked.

Alternatively, there's another option that could help save you some money on games your interested in - especially ones that for whatever reason passed you by, or you simply didn't have the time to invest in. This goes beyond the "testing phase", as now you won't be renting but instead buying. Don't panic - this is great news, and again, it surprises me at how many people I don't see doing this. What am I talking about? Purchasing used-games, of course! To keep things short, let's just say that it is not difficult to find games for very cheap at the "used section" of almost any game retailer you can think of. Some of those retailers include Blockbuster, Micro Play and EB Games. So, always remember to test out those titles before you purchase them brand-new. Or, try and find older titles you may have forgotten about at the used section of your closest video game retailer. Good luck!

How to Prepare a Defensive Game Plan in Youth Football

We are volunteer youth football coaches and we don't have unlimited hours to spend on coaching. However, youth football is pretty much the most coaching oriented sport there is, in other words the coach can be the difference in winning and losing more than any other sport. So you must do the following to win games and give your team the competitive advantage it needs. The following game process takes about 3-4 hours on a Sun. night.

Step 1. You need the game film from your opponent's previous game. There are usually no high bleachers at youth football games so get an endzone view of the teams offense. Always film behind the team you are scouting so you can see exactly what they are doing. Make sure you can see all the players and their numbers on every play.

Step 2. Watch the film and diagram every single play the team runs including repeats. I usually use cardstock. Write down the play number and the down and distance to the best of your knowledge and a caption for each play i.e. I would write play 1, 1 and 10, Pitch Sweep Right and diagram the blocking assignments as executed and the backfield player numbers. For a playoff game I would take the extra time to write down every player's number.

As you diagram the plays you will learn their playbook and start to get an idea of the coach's play calling philosophy. This is the most time consuming part of the process as you have to keep pausing and rewinding to get all the blocking assignments and the plays drawn up correctly.

Step 3. Watch the film again with your diagramed plays in front of you. Now you are looking for nuances that can help you. I look for weak and strong offensive lineman, who their best runners are, how well can their QB throw the football, who is playing receiver that can catch the football and who can't.

Step 4. Look for tells. Some teams will have multiple formations and only run one or two plays from a particular formation. For example a team will always run out of a double tight formation and always pass out of a four wide formation. There are always 3 or 4 of these teams you will play each year. You should crush them unless they are better than you at every position. Some teams in the aforementioned category will even substitute their QB on passing downs. If you don't notice something that obvious you deserve to lose. A slightly harder to see ploy is flipping the best linemen to playside, you can often get away with this if the other team has not scouted you. On film it's pretty easy to see a linemen changing sides every play.

There are tells that are slightly more difficult to spot, but are very common in youth football. For instance, when a back is substituted into the game are they looking to get the ball to him right away? When a new player is put in to the TE or WR position, especially when that player is a starting back, you can be pretty sure they are looking to throw him the ball. When a team spreads a kid way out to the sideline far away from the QB, you can be pretty sure they aren't going to throw him the ball unless the QB has an absolute cannon. Even then if it isn't one of their two or three best players the kid probably won't catch it. If the starting TB goes real wide, respect it; if not, don't.

Line splits are another thing to keep an eye on. They mean different things to different teams depending on their schemes, however in youth football; wide splits usually mean run and tight splits mean pass. Some linemen will give away the play based on where they line up. The linemen and backs will also often give away a play by the weight of their stance and where they are pointing.

Teams that run unbalanced a lot are easy to beat. They usually only have one or maybe two plays to the weak side of the unbalanced formation and they are poorly formulated and just there to keep you honest. Make sure you have a player or two ready to stop that particular play and have everyone else committed to their unbalanced side.

Passing is hard to do in youth football because pass blocking is suspect and there are usually 7 or more rushers. In addition to this, the kids are poor route runners. Unless they drill constantly they are never in the same place or running at the same speed twice. For these reasons you can bet in most instances there aren't a lot of passing route combinations being employed against you. Teach your DB's to sit and/or jump the opposing team's favorite routes, especially on third or fourth and long. You can also jam the receiver in question on the line of scrimmage as long as possible, sometimes I will have one player jamming and another one waiting to cover him. I know which player to do this too, because I have scouted the team and I know who is a threat and who isn't.

If you are playing a wishbone option team or a double wing team make sure you can stop the dive first, then their offense falls apart. This can be accomplished with inside blitzes or interior defensive linemen using goal line or short yardage techniques. If you are playing a team that relies heavily on the pitch sweep or jet sweep work heavily on contain defense. If they run a full house backfield (3 backs) make sure your contain man gets to the deepest blocking back and make sure you have at least an 8 man box and don't have your corners way outside and your safeties really deep being useless.

Step 5. Draw up your game plan and write it out simply so that your players and other coaches can understand it. I have a playbook software program now, but I used to just use MS Powerpoint. Now that you know their offense and their tells, make your game plan accordingly. If you see a formation you know they are going to run from hammer it, if you see a formation you know they are going to pass from get your inside line stunts and blitzes going.

When you practice have the offense run the opponents plays as a scout team using the plays you have diagrammed. Make sure your team can recognize the formations and knows what you want them to do on every given play and knows every tell that you spotted in the film.

Now you can beat a team with superior talent because you are ready. If you found this article helpful look for my upcoming book on winning in youth football, my offensive spread playbook and my upcoming youth football defensive playbook all available on http://www.ythfootballforum.com.

Get Your Gaming News

The gaming industry is a huge multi-billion-dollar a year sector of the world economy. There are makers of gaming consoles, designers of games, retail outlets, and so many new innovations in technology happening so fast that it's impossible to keep up with it all.

There is a lot of media coverage of the different players in the gaming industry. That's not surprising, since there are so many devoted fans of the different consoles, and so many gaming fanatics who enjoy playing new games and updated versions of older games.

It's real easy to start digging into the Internet sources of gaming industry news. For starters, you can search in any search engine for "gaming news" or similar search term. The trouble with that approach is that you get so many results in the list that is returned, that it's very time-consuming to look at more than a few sites that way.

Following is a short list of five websites where you can get started digging into gaming news, perhaps with a site that suits your style or special interests.

Gametab lists the recent news articles from a wide range of gaming news websites. Categories are the different websites themselves. You can find lists of latest releases and latest news, reviews by platform, and you can participate in their forums.

N4G is a nice source of diverse news from various sources, categorized neatly so you can easily zero in on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, or other console or platform. They also have categories for industry news, dev news, tech, and week's hottest news.

Joystiq is a site that serves up news in the style of a blog, so it has a more relaxed and personal feel than some of the other news sites. The focus is mainly on games themselves, and the postings are categorized in a fairly usable form via a platform-specific menu.

1up covers news and gossip, and is constantly updated. The focus on mainly on gaming company related news. However, you can also find a wide range of video game reviews and previews on their site. One way to keep up with upcoming games is to check their "Launch Centers" section. And a Cheats section may be of interest to those who want to find some game shortcuts.

Gamesarefun (or GAF) is a news site that does not provide updates as often as some of the others. However, an interesting feature is a video game database. This isn't a complete listing of all games ever made, but it sure can help you find some details on a game that you have been wondering about for awhile. GAF also has a cheats section and forums that you can browse.

Well that's the short list. There are definitely a lot more gaming news sites out there, and they are easy to find using the method described above. So dig into these sites for your "gaming news fix" and have fun reading.

Batman Arkham City Game Overview

Information about the upcoming Batman Arkham City game has been revealed quite a bit through various magazine sources such as Xbox Magazine and others! The game's setting is reported to be around five times larger than the original one. The Batman is induced with the power of swinging in, and out of the insolvent part of Gotham, and will counter other chief villains such as Joker, the Outcasts, Two-Face, and a lone gang, all part of the Arkham City. This bit of news has injected a lot of enthusiasm and excitement in every one waiting for Batman Arkham City game!

Batman Arkham City game is expected to hit the stores around May 2011. Just like its predecessor, this too is an action-packed video game that is expected to be incorporated with slyness and predator strategies. The gadgets used earlier will be available from the very onset of the Arkham City that will bring about improved gaming capabilities.

Batman Arkham City has been built upon the foundation that Batman Arkham Asylum had, however, this version is surely going to be more intense and atmospheric. The players will be sent flying into the Arkham City, which is the new security refuge of Gotham City's gangsters and other illicit masterminds.

In this highly awaited sequel, which is developed inside the walls of a rambling place situated in the hub of Gotham City, players will come across a new star cast with classic characters and immoral villains from the Batman universe. A wide array of game play also features to endow the players with ultimate experience such as the Dark Knight.

In the demo of the game, there was the Catwoman's punishment by Two-Face, the rescue then consisted of a lot of scuffle and affray, the rescue sequel ended with the Joker having a target at the Catwoman with this rifle from someplace in the extensive city of Arkham.

The demo also involved the Detective Mode of the Batman in order to trace out the bullet flight and proceeded with the Joker's location. In order to avoid any spoilers in the midst, the church tower blew up, and the Batman was thus able to fly out from the windows in an impressive getaway manner.

The Rocksteady Studios and Microsoft, together offered the first glimpse of Batman: Arkham game play in San Francisco, a 20-minute demonstration took place that delineated the Batman's flight from the church to the courthouse, from the rooftops to the city streets in a much flawless manner.

The demo seen of the Batman Arkham City surely has made the game a much enthusiastically awaited game play since it brings that the players have been injected with lift, and all this seems quite logical as well. Hence, players at large are certainly excited to witness the extent of Batman's beaten direction and the benefits that come along with it. Surely, everyone out there is going to keep his/her fingers crossed until May 2011 when the game play would be available for every fan of Batman: Arkham City!

The Popularity of War Games for the PC

War games for the PC are one of the major topics inside the gaming industry. Over the decade we have seen a lot of war games being developed and more will follow in the coming years.

It is no surprise that game developers love to make war games. Based on statistics, gamers - especially the younger generations - enjoy playing them, whether it be shooting aliens from outer space or Nazis from World War 2. War games like Gears of War, Starcraft II, and the Call of Duty series have brought in millions of dollars to developers. Successes like these are what draws other developers to jump onto the same bandwagon.

Game play and graphics on these war games for the PC have changed dramatically over the years - from simple activities like mining minerals and building units to managing your economy even up to a political level. As for graphics, games like Crysis have brought the standard up to the next level, introducing features like real time high dynamic range lighting and great physics that push a PC's capability almost beyond its limits.

War games for the PC are not without their controversies. Quite a number of developers were forced to make changes to their games as they were met with harsh criticism. A few examples of those criticisms are games where users get to play as members of Al-Qaeda, a game that focuses on actual events during the Afghanistan war. The public often sees this as a disrespect for those who have died in the war. But designers feel that it could actually be seen as celebrating the patriotism of those brave soldiers.

Because of those controversies, some developers have tried to take advantage of the media attention. In the upcoming game that EA is releasing, it is being reported that you can actually play the "Taliban" faction. That caused an uproar in the community and the developers had to change that to the "insurgent" faction in Iraq. Many people view this move as a very dirty advertising method. EA knew that the topic revolving around the current conflict is very sensitive but they tried to go ahead with their plans anyway, knowing the controversy would boost their sales.

While war games are gaining popularity on current generation consoles, the PC is still the best platform to play them thanks to the keyboard and mouse. In general, the mouse provides faster movements and more precise control than a controller pad. Some gamers may disagree but recent attempts by Microsoft to allow both PC and Xbox 360 gamers to compete against each other in Modern Warfare 2 ended up in failure for the Xbox players. PC gamers easily swept the floor against their counterparts.

War games for the PC will continue to grow and flourish in the gaming industry, especially in the competitive arena. After all, it's hard to beat the feeling of bringing your huge battalion of tanks crushing over enemy territory in full glory.

RBS Six Nations Rugby - Upcoming Ireland Games at Croke Park 2010

Rugby has never been so prominent in Ireland. In recent years, it has flourished and is now widely played throughout the country. It's fair to say that this surge in rugby can be attributed to our national team - current grand slam title holders in the RBS Six Nations and the success of teams like Munster and Leinster in the Heineken Cup. Added to this the fact that Ireland captain Brian O'Driscoll has recently been voted 'World Player of the Decade' by Rugby World Magazine and Ireland is definitely on the rugby world map!

Ireland's first game of the year will kick off in Croke Park on the 6th of February when they take on Italy. After Ireland's run of success in 2009 they are the team to beat and Italy are sure to come out with all guns blazing. This is a match not to be missed and kick off is at 2.30pm.

Ireland will take on Wales on Saturday 13th March. This will be another hotly contested match and will kick off at 2.30pm. If you can't make this match, don't worry as the following Saturday (20th March at 5pm) Ireland will take on Scotland again in Croke Park which is sure to provide a nail-biting spectacle!

These three 'at home' matches will be your last chance to see Ireland play in the fantastic venue that is Croke Park Stadium. The stadium is located just about a 20 minute walk from O'Connell Street (in Dublin city centre) just off Jones's Road in an area called Drumcondra.

Accommodation for these games will be in high demand so we strongly recommend you book your accommodation as soon as possible.

Top 10 aankomende Games van 2009

I haven't ranked these games because they are on different platforms and very diverse categories. These games are some of the most anticipated games of 2009 and have large fan bases. They all look exciting and will provide tons of gamers with some high intensity fun!

Halo Wars - Halo Wars is a real-time-strategy (RTS) game built specifically for the Xbox 360 console. Players manage resources and create and maintain buildings and armies to complete objectives. There are two playable factions, the human UNSC and alien Covenant, with their own units, strengths, and special abilities. Players establish their armies by building and expanding bases; it is at these locations that units are trained and upgrades resourced. There are only a few base locations on each scenario or map, making base fortification and defense a key priority. Destruction of a player's last base results in defeat if a new base is not quickly reestablished. This is new territory for Halo, if they don't pull this off it could seriously hurt the Halo brand name. The game launches in the U.S. on March third, so get ready!

Guitar Hero: Metallica - Guitar Hero is such a clever idea, get a guitar and play while watching the screen patterns. Who would have thought it would be a global hit like it is? Guitar Hero 3 was awesome and then they brought out Guitar Hero: Aerosmith which focused on one band. I am more of a Metallica fan and interested in how many and which songs they will select from the Metallica song arsenal. I have started to burn out on Guitar Hero a while back but maybe this new version will spark my interest again. It comes out on March 29th.

God of War 3 - A game with great fighting and graphics, God of War is back and better than ever. This time the amount of enemies onscreen has been increased to 50 as opposed to the maximum of 15 in previous God of War installments. That is always good news. Only two weapons have been confirmed so far: the trademark Blades of Athena, and the Cestus, a pair of fist gauntlets shaped like lion heads. These new weapons appear to have the ability to smash through solid objects, such as rocks. Sounds like fun. The game comes out for PS3 only towards the very end of this year. So don't hold your breath.

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars - Okay I am stoked about this one! I am seriously considering buying a Nintendo DS just for this game. My friends say don't buy a system for one game, but I say rules are made to be broken. Besides, this game is badass! Listen to this: there is a drug dealing minigame a la Drugwars, which will allow players to peddle six types of drugs around the city. Players will make a profit by recognizing market conditions and demands based on geography and plying their wares accordingly. Wow, and I thought Scarface had a decent mini drug game. If that doesn't have you sold, you can use the stylus on the DS as a screwdriver to hotwire cars. After doing so, the vehicle's alarm can be set off, which can be deactivated with a special device. Different cars need different tools to be hotwired. Greatness. The game comes out March 17.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - Bought and loved the first one. Have been a huge fan of the Call of Duty series and they haven't let me down so far. This is the sixth installment in the series. I see a pattern of them flipping back and fourth between world war 2 and modern warfare. Very smart, that way by the time the users are bored of one type the other game will be about to come out. Activision is great about improving their games by leaps and bounds. They provide some of the most realistic fps war games. Now that the Battlefield games have slowed down, they have cornered the market. The game comes out in the fourth quarter of this year.

Resident Evil 5 - Official Xbox Magazine gave Resident Evil a 9.0 out of 10, praising its "balls-to-the-wall shootouts and awesome battles." Sheva's A.I. was praised concerning how she is "vigilant about reviving you and is an able combatant," though criticized for its inability to be strategized with, making the final battle "maddeningly tough." That the enemies in the game come in all speeds was positively received. Of note were gun-wielding enemies which can fire blindly and duck for cover. The game's control scheme was criticized for not allowing the player to shoot and move at the same time. The new inventory system was also called into question, the review saying that many will hate it though it is "essentially game balancing-making sure you're never too well armed." RE5 was summarized as "an action spectacular with terrific production values" and as an "excellent co-op game." The Official Playstation Magazine gave the game a 5 out of 5 praising the controls and visuals. Xbox World 360 gave a much more critical review saying "East meets West with mixed results" and stating that its "A solid shooter which sadly falls short of Resident Evil 4's standard.". One of Xbox worlds main criticisms was Sheva's A.I. saying she is "responsible for both the best and worst Resident Evil 5 has to offer". The review also states that she will always choose the weakest weapon given to her and that when playing in single player that playing with Sheva is "a babysitting nightmare". However the game did receive 81/100, while complimenting the "great" Co-op mode. The UK based independent Playstation magazine Playstation World criticized the game for it's lack of tension and it's failure to significantly move the series forward. However it did give the game an 8 out of 10. Resident Evil 5 is set to release March 13th.

Diablo 3 - It's release date hasn't been issued yet, it may not be this year, but the sheer possibility leaves it hard to ignore. Simple and addicting, you can get hooked into this game just like a great rpg. Going from hellacious cavern to the next, fighting increasingly harder enemies, It doesn't get much better. Diablo 3 looks to make it even greater. Diablo 3 will retain a feel similar to that found in earlier games in the series, including a viewpoint reminiscent of the old isometric view. The trailer for the game looks awesome, it has new features, but retains the nostalgic feel of the first version. An enhanced quest system, a random level generator, and a random encounter generator are slated for use in order to ensure the game provides different experiences when replayed. Quests have always been great for Diablo unlike some mmorpgs like Age of Conan that ruined the positive connotation of the word quest for me. Additionally, there will be class-specific quests to go along with the main storyline quests. For the first time in the series, in-engine cutscenes will be employed during key moments.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction - This game will have stunning graphics using the unreal engine 2.5. There have been a lot of delays in the production so this game has been long overdue. It was recently pushed back to April and let's cross our fingers that the date sticks. The information about this game is as stealthy as the gameplay itself. Little is known, but a couple of trailers and screenshots that were leaked give us some insight. The trailer demonstrates a more civilian based Sam interacting with props (tables and chairs) to disable enemies. The events depicted in the trailer take place in Washington D.C, and several landmarks, including the Korean War Memorial, the United States Capital and the Washington Monument, have been seen in various promotional videos and trailers. On June 30th you can get your hands on a copy.

The Sims 3 - In contrast to the earlier versions, the houses and neighborhoods will be seamless, allowing players to explore and interact with their neighborhood without loading time. Twelve careers are available to pursue (law enforcement, crime, military, science, politics, journalism, business, entertainment, culinary, medical, athletic, and gardening). Each career has a workplace building in the neighborhood, which Sims travel to for their shifts. Sims can also apply for jobs within these buildings. Evidently they have beefed up the "create a sim" feature as well. You can change the obesity and muscle level among other things like facial features. The part I think is the coolest is this: Create-A-Sim now features over 80 unique traits to choose from. Some of these are Evil, Slob, Good Sense of Humor, Charismatic, Loner, Computer Whiz, Vegetarian, Frugal, Clumsy, Athletic, Hot Headed, Lucky, Insane and Flirty. It is not possible to give a Sim traits that contradict each other (such as Brave and Cowardly). The player can also edit many aspects of a Sims' personality, such as favorite hobby, color, music genre and food. A lot to explore in this one. Find it in stores on June 2nd.

Tekken 6 - One of the greatest fighting games of all time, right up there with Mortal Kombat. I figure this is a lot like when Star Wars re released the originals, there is a ton of anticipation here. It has been awhile since there has been a new Tekken game. Can you imagine playing this game in 1080p? Tekken 6 will boast the greatest number of characters ever seen in a Tekken game with a total of 42 characters (including the two Bloodline Rebellion characters). According to Namco, virtually all of the Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection characters will be returning with new additional characters. Don't miss out on this one, it comes out in October 27th of this year and by that time Japan will have nearly had it for two years!

Tailgating Games

Nothing characterizes American sports better than an old-fashion tailgate party. Whether a group of strangers met in a parking lot outside the stadium or you and your friends are gathered in your backyard, there's nothing quite like firing up the barbeque, nursing a cold beer, and celebrating your home team with other loyal sports fans.

In addition to food, drinks, and music, there is one other necessity that must be part of every tailgate party: games. Tailgating games will bring out the competitive side of everyone, thus psyching them up for the upcoming game. The following are some popular games that will get everyone fired up for the first pitch or the opening kick (or jump ball...or dropped puck):

o Cornhole: Sometimes known as Baggo, this game can be played on any surface, indoors or outdoors. To play, set up two boards about 25 feet from one another. Each board's back end should be elevated about a foot from the ground and will contain a small hole on the back half. Teams of two will place themselves behind either board and proceed to throw bean bags at the opposite board. A bag that goes through the hole is worth three points, while a bag that lands on the board but does not slide through the hole is worth one point.

o The Washer Toss Game: To play, you will need to set up two wooden boxes about ten feet apart. Each box should have a small hole in the middle. Like in Cornhole, teams of two will line up behind either washer box. However, in this game, participants will throw small, metal washers at the opposite box. A washer that lands in the hole is worth three points, while one that lands in the box is worth one point.

o Lawn Darts: As the name suggest, this game is to be played on a grassy area. To play, place plastic rings (with about a two-foot radius) on the ground about 10 feet from one another. Again, teams of two will set up behind the rings. To score points, players will have to toss lawn darts and try to land them inside the opposing circle. The darts used in lawn darts are about three times as big as those use in traditional darts.

There are countless other games that can be brought along to your next tailgating party. If you're feeling creative, you can even make up your own game. Yet, no matter which you play, game-day competitions in Cornhole and other beanbag games will surly add excitement and enthusiasm to your next tailgating party.

Don't Gamble on Your Upcoming Move

As a kid I remember watching my grandparents as they viewed their favorite game shows, Let's Make a Deal and The Price is Right! Somehow these shows were the highlight of their day. The enthusiasm they exhibited was priceless. My grandmother would literally yell at the screen when a contestant would make a bad decision and lose the game. In some instances the decision was obviously a gamble, but the contestant did it anyway. Maybe they felt, I might as well go for it, what can I lose? Or maybe they couldn't see what the viewers and those in the audience saw. Whatever the reason, they gambled for the prize. Well, moving your valuables isn't another day on Let's Make A Deal. And quite frankly you shouldn't just be concerned about the price being right, but also the quality care and experience your potential moving company possesses.

Let's talk pricing for a minute. There are a number of things that will either increase or lower your move price. The first variable is your moving day. Moving on the weekend versus moving during the week could mean the difference in a cheaper move. A weekday move is less expensive because it's a less busy time than the preferred Friday, Saturday and Sunday move days. Another item to consider is the time of the month. Avoid moving at the end of the month. Leases expire at the end of the month and create a busy time for most moving companies. If you can afford to be flexible with your date, pick the middle of the month and choose a weekday instead of a weekend.

A gamble for sure is leaving the move to amateurs. Of course everyone is watching their pockets these days, but allowing friends and relatives to do the job of a professional will cost you in the end. Uncle Fred and Cousin Josh mean well, but their ability to maneuver downstairs and back upstairs could prove to be damaging to you and your items. A professional moving company has skilled moving crews who understand how to deliver spotless relocation services.

Packing is another area suited for professionals. An experienced packer will ensure your fine china, glassware, and other fragile items arrive to your destination unscathed. While many consumers opt out of full-service packing, it is a stress-saver. Even if you're doing your own packing, make certain you secure your packing materials from your moving company. Using packing materials the professionals use brings you one step closer to a safe arrival of your belongings.

I hope the tips mentioned help you make wise choices for your upcoming move. I think that's what my grandmother was trying to yell to the contestants, although she knew they couldn't hear her. She's in heaven now, but I will never forget those moments...absolutely priceless! Good Moving to ya.

Pre-Ordering Your Video Games - A Necessity Today!

When it comes to pre-ordering nowadays you have no choice. In most cases if you don't pre-order your favorite video game, you will not have it on its release date. Don't go through the same thing that I went through, going from game store to game store, trying to find my favorite game because I didn't pre-order!

The whole process of pre-ordering is something that the entire video game industry utilizes. From the game developers to the console makers to the video game stores to the department stores. The video game industry is a billion dollar industry that is getting bigger and bigger everyday. The whole process starts with the Electronic Entertainment Expo or E3. They hold this convention every year and from there the game developers get an idea how much anticipation they can expect from an upcoming title. From there it goes to the numerous video games magazines that promote that particular game. That game and many others are promoted in these magazines, these same magazines are read by the millions of video game junkies in the U.S. and the world and that in turn draws up more anticipation for the game.

The console makers vie for distribution of the game. If the game has garnered enough attention then these console makers try to get sole distribution of this game for their particular console. This is sometimes hit or miss. Take for example the hugely popular video game "Grand Theft Auto". This game was available only on Playstation and they benefited from it immensely. But now the Xbox 360 has jumped into the ring and Microsofts' baby has become more and more influential in the industry. Because of this, Rockstar, the makers of Grand Theft Auto have allowed the Xbox 360 into the grand hall of Grand Theft Auto. That means more money for Rockstar, more money for Playstation, more money for Xbox 360. All this from pre-ordering.

The attention and anticipation that the game gets directly relates to the pre-order status of the game. What I mean is whether or not the game will be available on game day. The video game stores order a predetermined amount for the stores stock. Sometimes they have a game or two left in stock. Sometimes they don't. You won't have to worry about this if you pre-order. When you pre-order, they make sure that your copy of the game is at the store before they sell off the extra copies. This is the beautiful thing about the whole pre-order process. This is something that starts months in advance.

Normally you pre-order with a small amount, usually about 5 dollars. This saves your copy of the game. Once the release date eventually comes then all you have too do is go to the store and pick up your copy that you pre-ordered. Hopefully you paid the entire thing off, that way you won,t have to worry about paying the balance of that game on game day. (There is nothing better than walking up to the counter, showing your receipt, and walking away with your copy of a game that you have been waiting for from anywhere from six months to a year.) Now if you don't pre-order then you have to hope that the store has an extra copy of the game for you. If they don't then you have to go from store to store hoping, wishing and praying that the next store has a extra copy of the game! Don't go through this, just pre-order the game! It's only five dollars!

Video Game Beta Testers - Can I Really Get Paid To Play Video Games?

Many people make a living as a video game beta tester. What this means is that they get paid to find bugs in beta versions of upcoming video games. The reason for this is quite simple. For the game company, it is financially beneficial to pay professional game testers to thoroughly test a game and all of it's features so that it meets consumer expectations, and so that it is the best quality that can possibly be achieved.

Generally speaking, here's how you get started: you contact a few game developers & game companies and you persuade them to hire you as a beta tester. In a nutshell, that's basically what needs to be done. Sounds simple, right? Unfortunately though, it is much easier said than done.

The best way to "persuade" these companies and developers is by showing them your overwhelming amount of expertise in the video game industry; things like your skill level as a gamer, your ability to accurately document glitches and bugs, your ability to follow instructions to the letter, and so on and so forth. Occasionally, it means making them an offer they can't refuse, such as testing a few video games for free (GULP). Why test them for free? Well, to get your foot in the door and show them that your a dedicated tester that just loves to play video games. Remember, they are looking for true blue game testers that can be remarkably efficient when testing video games.

When you begin landing video game tester jobs, you are generally sent a free copy in the mail as well as a questionnaire and "report" to fill out. Typically, you'll be given an assignment to complete that either involves beating the entire game from start to finish or playing one level over & over & again. It really just depends on the information the developer needs.

Once you get your assignment, it's time to go to work. Complete the assignment, fill out the form or questionnaire, and then mail it back to the game developer. It's important to be fast with your video game testing and, at the same time, you must be professional as well. With that being said, get the work done quickly but make sure it is done accurately and without mistakes. After they have received your report, you will be issued a check in the mail. Typically, the checks are paid every other week to the video game beta tester.

To be a good game tester, you have to have an eye for detail, as well as the ability to play certain parts of a game repeatedly. At the same time, you have to be able to properly document errors and glitches that you find, which will be done via the bug reporting form.

When it comes to getting started and finding your first video game tester job, there are two paths you can walk. Path 1: You go out on your own and do everything completely by yourself without any help from anyone or anything. Path 2: You research and read through the numerous resources & testing guides in order to find a "tried, tested, and proven" approach that others have achieved success with. Obviously, the path you choose is up to you, but personally, I'd go with option 2. Why? Because video game testing is an industry made up of teams, not solo gamers. Plus, why would you want to "reinvent the wheel" when you can just improve upon it?

There you have it; a quick & simple guide on how to get paid as a video game beta tester.

Game Tester Job Openings

What would you say if I told you that you could earn $1900 per month by applying for one of the video game tester job openings that are currently available? Sceptical, aren't you? But by the time you have finished reading this article your point of view on work and play will be completely different. Why? Because you will have discovered a secret that not many people know about - that you don't have to settle for the boring monotony of an average job like most people do. In fact it is quite possible to enjoy well-paid, full time living testing games from the comfort of your own home, doing what you are passionate about, working for one of the top video game developers. There is a link at the end of this article where you can begin your journey, but for now, please read on for more information about how you can take advantage of this opportunity.

It is probably every young guy's dream to work as a game tester for one of the leading game development companies. But not many of them are aware that such a dream can be turned into reality - all you need is a little motivation and the willingness to succeed. Armed with the proper information you could be starting your gaming career next week, JUST AS LONG AS YOU TAKE ACTION!

Just imagine what it would be like to get paid for something that you really enjoy doing! Not to mention the fact that you will be able to get your foot in the door of the gaming industry, which could lead to even more rewarding opportunities such as gaming programmer or even game development team leader. The idea here is to really consider the long term possibilities and your future gaming career.

As a video game tester you will be primarily responsible for finding bugs and glitches in many of the upcoming games in the later development stages. You must then demonstrate the circumstances under which these occurred and produce a report. You will also be expected to provide any input as to how the games can be improved upon in terms of performance and game play.

Now, you don't need any formal qualifications to apply for video game tester job openings, but obviously you will need some relevant experience. You must also be aware that it is important to earn the respect of the gaming company for whom you are working. This means having a serious attitude towards producing high quality feedback and good communication skills will therefore be an advantage.

How to Prepare Your Youth Basketball Team Well for Games

What would you think of having your youth basketball practice approximate what you would like to see happen in your upcoming game? In advance of practice, you would visualize what you would like your team to do in the game. Your players would move through the practice doing what you feel it will take for them to win the next game.

You would set up your team in two groups of five players each. One group would be on offense, and one group on defense. You would instruct what each group would do against each other. They would then carry out your instructions. The players would have the opportunity to experience game-like situations and to implement the game plan before the actual game. Each group would spend time on both offense and defense.

As you are implementing the team offense and team defense, there will be certain skills and movements that would need to be emphasized. These skills and movements could be practiced in drills as you explain their importance to that particular game. For example, if you think that a turn-around jump shot in the paint is important for that game, the players could practice this many times in a drill.

The key is to have every minute of practice time count for the upcoming game. Is what you are doing in this practice relevant to this upcoming game? Am I preparing my players well for this next game? No wasted time. All practice time applies to the next game. What would you think of focusing only on what you want your team to do, and not what the other team does? In this way, your players too can focus on what they are doing to win the game. There is a lot to be said for our players feeling prepared to execute a game plan about which they feel confident.

Final Fantasy Mini Games

Who remembers snowboarding in Final Fantasy 7? How about the chocobo races? The arm wrestling and basketball shooting in the arcade? I remember playing all these mini games back when I was a kid. In the recent games there haven't been many fun mini games or side quests like one experienced in Final Fantasy 7. There have been some other mini games and side quests in the newer games but they just don't seem as fun or memorable.

In FF7 you are actually forces to play these fun games and snowboarding down a mountain and racing a chocobo are included in the storyline. Later one you are able to play these over again and also race the chocobo's you've spent so much time raising. There was always Joe on the black chocobo though that always had a chocobo with stats a little better than the one you are on. This always kept the game challenging and didn't just let you win because you have a new awesome chocobo you trained. Having the arcade you could go to and re-play the snowboarding game and many other games in there as well was a nice addition to the game.

In Final Fantasy 8 they did introduce a card game that I'll admit, I spent a lot of time playing. The card game wasn't all that fun but was rather tedious in trying to play the same person over and over until they put the card you wanted to win into play. Once you got several of the best cards the game became rather easy, until some strange rules were added and you had to avoid playing in certain regions where they added rules such as "random" where all cards are chosen at random. This would make it hard to get the opponent to play their good card you want, and even when they did it would be hard to win with you having random crappy cards in your hand.

The card game in FF8 was better than the one in FF9 however. FF9 did have some stuff you could do in chocobo forests like digging for treasure, they also had that in Final Fantasy 13 where you could find treasure while riding a chocobo around... but these features just weren't that fun, not like the old chocobo races anyway. You'd think with the new games that come out they could make some really great mini games rather easily. So why Don't they? Okay the Blitzball game in FFX was interesting for a while I admit, and wouldn't mind some attempts at something like that. Something other than "hunts" or "quests" anyways would be nice, as those were never very exciting either in Final Fantasy 12 and 13.

I hope there will be some fun mini games in the upcoming game Final Fantasy XIII-2 as well as in any future Final Fantasies that are coming out. I wonder how long it will be before more Final Fantasy games are released as well. I am looking forward to it!

Significance of Video Game Trailer

Have you seen the new video game trailers for the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3? How about the new trailer of the upcoming Battlefield Bad Company 3? They're so graphically impressive and beautiful. It will make your eyes shed tears without even noticing it. Aside from the two most anticipated FPS game mentioned above, there are lots of new video games coming out for different platforms this year ranging from RPGs, FPS, Puzzles and Real Time Strategy. In terms of gaming, trailers are necessary given the wide use of internet today and the changing consumer habits. Consumers have become increasingly cautious about the products they're about to purchase that is why different companies have devised ways such that they're product would appear worthy of the consumers money.

Previews or teasers is a must because consumers will demand it. It is the most efficient and effective way of advertising. If the trailer is impressive and appealing to the consumers, it will definitely increase the game's potential sale. Aside from trailers showing the story and content, it also contains gaming news and other information. The trailer will also indicate when will it be released to which platform, system requirements in case it'll be coming out for the PC, as well as surprises such as unlockables and limited editions or special bundles.

Gaming news as well as updates are mostly found on the ending part of the trailers. It will also tell you if there are incoming packs for expansion or fixes in the form of game updates. If there are any delay for the release, some trailers are made specifically for letting the consumers be aware of it.

Most gaming companies have been releasing gaming updates because it has become the trend in the gaming industry. Updates such as expansion packs, especially the case for popular games such as COD, Battlefield, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and many more, are released to please consumers and to even increase the sale of that game. Aside form expansion packs, updates also serve to fix game bugs and glitches. Once again, as a good consumer, it is your duty to watch video game trailers because it will partly determine if the game is worth your money. Watch the latest video game trailers first before purchasing a new game to see what features does the game has to offer. Enjoy the trailers first and then decide if you will buy the product.

Games Tester Jobs - How YOU Can Earn Big Bucks!

You've got a RUBBISH job, and you HATE it. There's no chance of promotion, and the money's running low. You're only in it for the health cover. To be fair, most of us are in that position. But not me. Why?

Because I'm a games tester. But that sounds too good to be true! It isn't. People spend all day playing fun video games, and at the end of the day, they get handed a big fat check from the games company. So why aren't more people doing it? Well, most people just CAN'T BELIEVE that you can get paid for playing games, and are still sitting in an office busting a gut for the Man.

That's their loss. I became a video games tester to escape the boring 9-to-5 of work life, and now I'm finding myself with a $9,000 a month paycheck. Only problem is, although beta testing games is easy, getting hired isn't. BUT DON'T WORRY!

As with most professions, it's not about what you know, but WHO you know. Trust me. I know this guy, called Tony "T Dub" Sanders, who became a games tester the hard way. He paid HUNDREDS of dollars for some bum guide that just took his money away, and took YEARS to earn a living testing games. But in those years of experience, he learned how to get accepted by THE BIG COMPANIES to test the BEST upcoming games. Here's some names from 2008:

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II;
Starcraft 2;
Resident Evil 5.

Sounds fun, eh? So if YOU want to break out of that depressing 9-to-5 job and start earning REAL money, then test games today!

I didn't get where I am today just by following my nose, and writing a few application letters to EA and Blizzard. I got there by getting TOP TIPS from the PROS. To learn how I got my $9,000 a month job, click here.

Tony's guide costs $47, and if you don't have a games tester job after 60 days, he'll give you your money back! Believe me, after 60 days you'll be earning a hell of a lot more than $47! It's well worth it. But that $47 price tag won't be there forever. If you don't claim your guide today, that price is going to go WAY BACK UP to $497. Ouch.
