Upcoming Events in 2011


The upcoming events in the 2011 calendar are certain to make sports enthusiasts keep themselves busy. This is especially true of cricket fans. February, 19 to April, 2 will see the 2011 world cricket cup to be played in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

NASA's MESSENGER spacecraft is scheduled to arrive in the orbit around Mercury on March, 18. Men's World Ice Hockey Championships will be held in Slovakia from April, 29. The lovers of Space Science have good news coming up on April. Pakistan will launch its first space Satellite in April.

Astronomers have predicted that Jupiter, Venus, Mercury and Mars will all be visible within a roughly 6 degree area of the sky. They have found that a partial solar eclipse will be visible in the Arctic region in June. In the same way total lunar eclipse will also be visible mainly in Africa, India and the Middle East in June.

Sports lovers will receive good news again in July 2011. The International Olympic Committee will announce the host city of the 2018 Winter Olympics in Durban, South Africa. It is interesting to note that the planet Neptune will be completing its first full orbit since its discovery in the year 1846 on July, 10. A partial solar eclipse will be viewed off the coast of Antarctica in July 2011.

Rugby lovers will enjoy finding that New Zealand will host the 2011 Rugby World Cup between September, 9 and October, 23. 2011 Pan American games will be held between October, 13 and October, 30. In the meanwhile scientific researchers have predicted that solar maximum would occur in the 2012 calendar. The 2011 calendar, thus, shows that it is laden with upcoming events that keep people from all walks of life and all interests busy all through the year.
